We are looking for a talented Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing team in Henderson, CO.

Job Summary:

Leads the planning, designing, purchasing, and implementation of changes to the manufacturing equipment and systems while leading and co-leading teams.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
  • Driving safe, reliable processes - You lead end-to-end project work to design and implement manufacturing processes that meet safety, quality, and production goals.
  • Improving equipment performance - You apply advanced manufacturing principles to enhance equipment capability, stability, and efficiency.
  • Advancing continuous improvement - You elevate operational performance by using CI tools and rigorously applying Cummins standards.
  • Standardizing best practices - You lead the creation and refinement of manufacturing standards, working methods, and process documentation.
  • Influencing key stakeholders - You communicate with and influence external partners, business leaders, and cross-functional teams to align decisions and outcomes.
  • Leveraging cross-functional resources - You collaborate with internal and external experts to execute complex project assignments and deliver strong results.
  • Applying advanced manufacturing expertise - You bring deep knowledge of manufacturing principles to guide decisions, solve problems, and strengthen Cummins' operational capability.

Responsibilities

To be successful in this role you will need the following:
  • Collaborative partnerships - Build strong cross-functional relationships to align engineering, operations, HSE, and suppliers around shared manufacturing objectives.
  • Clear, adaptive communication - Deliver concise, audience-specific communication that drives clarity, alignment, and safe execution across all stakeholders.
  • Health and safety leadership - Champion proactive safety behaviors, identify risks early, and reinforce an interdependent safety culture.
  • Drawing interpretation expertise - Integrate product and equipment drawings to design processes that meet specifications and ensure manufacturability.
  • Equipment and capital selection - Choose equipment that meets Cummins standards, supports production goals, and aligns with long-term capability needs.
  • Data-driven process modeling - Use digital tools to simulate processes, validate decisions, and drive continuous improvement before implementation.
  • Continuous improvement mindset - Identify waste, reduce variation, and apply CI methodologies to improve cost, quality, and throughput.
  • Structured problem solving - Apply systematic root-cause analysis to implement robust corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
    Education, Licenses, Certifications:
    College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.
    This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
    Experience:
    Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.


Qualifications

This role will support DBU Supply Chain sites in the West Region (Irvine, Denver, Edmonton).

Core Responsibilities / Activities
  1. Lead execution of manufacturing and capital projects from concept through implementation, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved.
  2. Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes, equipment, and production systems to improve operational performance and manufacturing readiness.
  3. Serve as the technical lead for cross-functional project teams, driving risk mitigation, issue resolution, equipment commissioning, and successful project delivery.

Skill, Education, or Experience Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field, with 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  2. Demonstrated experience leading manufacturing, industrialization, or capital projects in a production environment.
  3. Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment installation and commissioning, process development, capacity analysis, and production readiness activities.
  4. Experience applying engineering problem-solving and risk management tools such as Root Cause Analysis, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.

Preferred Skills, Education, or Experience
  1. Experience with automation, robotics, advanced manufacturing technologies.
  2. Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) and experience managing project budgets, schedules, and cross-functional stakeholders.
