Manufacturing Engineer.Summary
This individual would be designing, building, programming, maintaining & troubleshooting, mostly feeding machines, and automation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility of leading the transition from new product development to manufacturing,
- Providing daily manufacturing support for existing products and for developing, implementing and improving processes.
- This position drives continuous improvement through operational efficiencies and innovative engineering solutions.
- Plans, designs, and coordinates the integration of machinery and equipment into the manufacturing process of industrial establishment, applying engineering knowledge.
- Develops and writes equipment specifications, performance requirements, cost analysis, and proposals for integrating machining and equipment.
- Oversees installation to ensure machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.
- Determines parts supply, maintenance tasks, safety procedures, and service schedule required to maintain machines and equipment in prescribed condition.
- Recommends improvements in method, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.
- Develops models for alternate processing methods to test the feasibility of new applications of system components and recommend implementation of improved procedures.
- Optimize manufacturing processes to provide sustainable gains in cost-effectiveness and product performance through capital projects, statistical analysis, designed experiments, and procedural changes.
- Assist team leaders and team members in evaluating and implementing continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications, Education, Experience
- B.S.E in Manufacturing / Robotics or related field or equivalent work experience with machining and/or tool making.
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the metalworking industry, stamping or machining.
- Experience working with ERP systems, SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Experience Programming CNC, lathes or milling machines is valued.
- Experience Manufacturing for the Automotive and Aerospace industries is valued
- Awareness and incorporation of designs' intent
- Controls, Industrial Robotics and PLC programming understanding is valued
