Manufacturing Engineer in Lansing, MI to support defense manufacturing operations, production processes, complex assemblies, and engineering-to-manufacturing integration. This role supports
MBOM development, Teamcenter, MRP planning, CAD design review, manufacturing work instructions, tooling recommendations, engineering changes, and production process documentation in a defense manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:- Define and control manufacturing and production processes, including sequence of operations, workflow, and detailed methodologies for complex assemblies and installations.
- Develop detailed manufacturing work instructions, procedures, and process documentation for existing production operations.
- Develop and maintain Manufacturing Bills of Material (MBOMs) and support MRP planning activities related to MBOM structure and development.
- Recommend tooling and equipment required to manufacture products efficiently and accurately.
- Analyze and interpret engineering drawings, design specifications, CAD models, technical documentation, and test results for manufacturing applications.
- Evaluate design releases and engineering changes to determine their impact on MBOMs and manufacturing processes.
- Serve as a liaison between engineering teams and the manufacturing facility to support production requirements and resolve technical issues.
- Document manufacturing procedures, process qualifications, and related production requirements.
- Collaborate with production, quality, engineering, and leadership teams on major manufacturing projects.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in an engineering field or equivalent experience.
- General understanding of Teamcenter, MRP planning, and MBOM development.
- Solid knowledge of manufacturing engineering concepts, principles, technical standards, production processes, and manufacturing methods.
- Ability to review engineering designs in a CAD system, including interrogation of models and drawings.
- Experience analyzing technical information and resolving manufacturing or production-related problems.
- Proficiency with Windows-based PC systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook.
- Ability to meet company requirements for background checks, employment verification, reference checks, physical examination, and controlled substance testing.
- Ability to obtain and maintain suitability requirements for access to classified information.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with U.S. defense contracts and DCMA audits.
- Familiarity with U.S. defense contracting requirements.
- Previous manufacturing plant experience.
- Considerable knowledge of manufacturing capabilities and production operations.
