Job Description:Manufacturing Engineer III - NPD LeadRedmond, WAMon-Thurs, 10 hour work day (4/10s)6am start timeOverviewThis position is located in Redmond, WA.
Responsibilities :
- Plan and lead the installation and sequencing of machines, work stations, tools, parts and supplies to optimize the efficiency of the production process.
- Guide or coach Engineers in preparing engineering process documentation.
- Coordinates with stakeholders to develop improvement plans which support established manufacturing methods, practices, and designs
- Uses Genis Operating System tools to gather information on current state conditions (cycle time, lead time, scrap rate, test results, etc.)
- Researches and analyzes design proposals against Design for Manufacturability (minimize waste in production processes and reduce cost).
- Applies statistical measures to estimate future manufacturing requirements.
- Researches and recommends parts, supply, and maintenance tasks, safety procedures, and servicing schedules at the pace production requires.
- Assist in planning, organizing and running manufacturing validation builds and preproduction builds.
- Plan, organize and lead the line transition process to rapidly implement new processes with minimal line downtime.
- Assists Design and Project Engineers, external customers, and manufacturing team members to resolve product level issues from production.
- Participates with Design Engineers to discuss and evaluate new product design or re-design and manufacture.
- Document new processes and quality requirements and train production team members to the new processes
- Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BS in Mechanical, Engineering Technology, Electrical, Industrial, Civil or Aeronautical) that is ABET accredited.
- 4+ years working in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications- Prior project or leadership experience preferred
- Specialized professional knowledge of the theory, principles, and practices of mechanical or industrial engineering in an industrial environment
- Working knowledge of Solidworks or equivalent programs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated teamwork
- Technical writing skills sufficient to prepare product specifications, test, and process documentation.
- Ability to problem solve using statistical analysis and critical thinking skills
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics, blueprints. Ability to use Solidworks or equivalent engineering software.
- Demonstrated ability to convert engineering principles into actionable production plans
- Prior knowledge and practice with Lean Manufacturing, Just-in-Time, and Total Quality Management.
- Ability to identify and prioritize work with limited input from manager
- Ambulatory ability to walk and stand on a continuous basis; to bend, stoop, and kneel on an intermittent basis; to lift medium weight objects up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Demonstrated exceptional communication skills - primarily in person, but occasionally in other mediums with customers and suppliers
