Work Model: This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office.
Position Summary
Successful candidate will implement lean process improvements in a precision machining environment that reduce process variation and improve productivity, as part of the Manufacturing Engineering team. This position is located in Simi Valley, CA.
Responsibilities
- Reduce scrap and non-conformances through strong RCCA and improved process control
- Develop processes and planning for New Product Launch and Existing Product Reactivation
- Recommend and implement new equipment, including process planning and development.
- Develop and modify manufacturing processes including process planning, process drawings using Solidworks software, machine fixtures, cutting tools, gages, special processes, assembly, and inspection.
- Participate in LEAN initiative and engage RBS and Six Sigma tools for process improvements.
- Bring new ideas and positive support to the current process.
- Drive results across multiple projects as part of the ME team
- Interface with suppliers and internal customers in an effective manner
- Assure that manufacturing engineering technical data is complete and accurately documented to provide an accurate technical/historical base for future reference that meets customer requirements
Experience and Skill Required
- BS Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aeronautical, Industrial, Materials Engineering
- 5 years experience with most phases of prototype or small batch aerospace precision machining processes including:
- Experience and knowledge of manufacturing equipment, processes and cutting tools
- Fixture design for CNC machined components
- Experience and knowledge of in-process and final inspection tools and methods
- Manufacturing Process Planning and Drawings utilizing Solidworks and MS NAV
- Knowledge of special processes (Heat Treat, NDT, Plating, etc.)
- Knowledge of quality management systems (AS9100).
- Cost Estimating experience is preferred.
- Heat Treating and Metallurgical process knowledge.
- Plating and Coating process knowledge.
- Ability to perform root cause and permanent corrective action.
- Ability to perform multi-task management.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong project and team leadership.
- Experience with Solidworks, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, MasterCam is preferred.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma is preferred.
