Collins Aerospace is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to join our Operations Support Engineering team in Phoenix, Arizona.
This role is focused on assembly process development, optimization, and production support within a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.
We are looking for a highly collaborative individual with strong SAP experience and a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Design Engineering to ensure efficient and repeatable assembly processes that meet quality and delivery requirements.
This position plays a key role in supporting electro-mechanical and circuit card assembly (CCA) production, driving process improvements, resolving production issues, and ensuring robust manufacturing execution.
What You Will Do
Support, guide, and mentor Operations personnel on assembly processes and best practices.
Develop, implement, and optimize assembly workflows, work instructions, and process documentation.
Own and maintain SAP work centers, routings, and production structures for active products.
Troubleshoot assembly and process-related issues on the production floor and drive timely resolution.
Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield, efficiency, and cost reduction.
Collaborate with Design Engineering on Design for manufacturability (DFM) and process improvements.
Support new product introduction (NPI) activities including process validation and readiness.
Ensure proper tooling, fixtures, and equipment are defined and implemented for assembly operations.
Collect and analyze manufacturing data to support process capability and performance improvements.
Partner with suppliers and internal teams to resolve manufacturing and assembly constraints.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical or related STEM field) and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience OR Advanced degree in a related field.
Experience supporting electronics and/or electro-mechanical and/or mechanical assembly environments.
Experience supporting high-mix, low-to-medium volume manufacturing production environments.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Strong working knowledge of SAP (routings, work centers, BOMs, and production orders).
Experience developing and maintaining work instructions and manufacturing documentation.
Familiarity with Teamcenter, CAD tools, and manufacturing engineering systems.
Experience with process validation, PFMEA, and control plans.
Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data-driven process improvement.
Experience implementing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
Understanding of tooling and fixture design for assembly processes.
Aerospace industry Experience.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
