Full Job Description
Job Purpose

This position will have responsibility for supervision of Assembly Manufacturing Engineering group projects and daily responsibilities. Coordinates activities with other departments across the organization.

Key Job Elements
• Develop & improve Assembly manufacturing processes
• Support/Lead the creation of process documentation, job aids and work instructions
• Develop and manage complex projects including costing, scheduling and resource planning
• Support/Lead Part & Process SPAP/PPAP activities
• Create and maintain Routings / BOMS
• Manage/Process Engineering Changes
• Support/Lead the creation and maintenance of SFMEA, Control Plans and PFMEA
• Understand and use of Industrial Engineering Tools - Time Studies/Line Balancing/Man Machine Charts/Value Stream Maps to eliminate waste
• Support/Lead safety investigations and perform 1Page DMAIC process
• Determine processing needs to ensure fixtures, tooling and methods are provided to meet schedules and production requirements.
• Support/Lead the improvement of processes, timeliness and reduce costs by eliminating non-value add activities.
• Implement various corporate initiatives such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Internal Certification, etc.
• Monitor and improve safety on the shop floor; eliminate any unsafe operations and ensure a safe and clean production environment.
• Evaluate, assess, and identify training needs of the workforce.
• Support Root Cause identification and drives Continuous Improvement process
• LN system use & training to users
• Team Center Mfg. / NX Awareness & Use
• Coaches team members to meet Quality, Safety, Velocity, and Cost goals
• Performs additional job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience
• Minimum 5 years of engineering/ manufacturing experience
• Able to read, understand and create drawings and bill of materials
• Strong proficiency with MS Office tools (Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
• Ability to comfortably present to team members and other area Leaders
• Strong interpersonal/communication/prioritization skills is a must
• Strong organizational skills
• Must also be able to perform the following for the duration of shift:
• Heavy manufacturing environment, subjecting employees to noise, vibration, and chemical elements
• Will be working near moving mechanical parts, overhead cranes and lift truck traffic
• Regularly required to stand and use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls & reach with hands and arms
• Continual use of ladders/platforms/stairs to access engine and or machines in various stages of assembly or manufacture
• Occasional lifting objects up to 35 lbs.
• Periodically walking short and long distances
• Metatarsal safety shoes are required as well as safety glasses.
