Full Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY:

This Engineer II position is responsible for providing engineering support to manufacturing and logistics operations at our Andersen Windows location in Locust Grove, GA. Primary focus will be on monitoring, controlling, and improving existing operations processes, and to ensure customer and business needs are met. The ideal candidate for this position is an innovative thinker and has a passion for operational excellence.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support the commercialization, start-up, and ongoing optimization of new manufacturing lines
  • Provide hands-on engineering support for manufacturing and adjacent logistics processes.
  • Develop subject matter expertise in understanding critical process parameters and their impact on process capability, variation, and overall manufacturing performance.
  • Ensure built in quality by using DMAIC tools: Process mapping, process capability, C&E Matrix, fishbone diagram, FMEA, MSA, DOE, Control Plans
  • Optimize the design and flow of materials and material delivery systems to support end-to-end process efficiency
  • Identify sources of process variation, defects, and logistics inefficiencies using the scientific method, and recommend and drive corrective actions.
  • Lead structured continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures, training materials, control plans, and standard work.
  • Plan and execute engineering projects, including development of work plans, timelines, and cost or capital estimates.
  • Mentor junior engineers and team members while influencing cross-functional stakeholders to adopt continuous improvement practices


QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • BS in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or equivalent engineering experience
  • 3 - 5 years of engineering experience preferred with mechanical aptitude
  • Understands and applies methodologies associated with project planning and experience working with collaborative, cross functional teams
  • Strong aptitude in problem solving using analytical tools and making process improvements
  • Communicate effectively through written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills
  • Knowledge and experience with quality systems, statistical process control, process capability and lean manufacturing tools
  • Ability to effectively apply acquired knowledge and skills to a variety of assignments within a moderate range of technical difficulty
  • Strong experience in building and maintaining relationships
  • Knowledge of 2D & 3D solid modeling preferred (AutoCad/Inventor)
  • Warehouse or Logistics experience a plus

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.

PAY RANGE:
$90,039.00 - $139,561.00
