Job Overview: The manufacturing engineer is a key member of the ETE engineering group. The role will proactively collaborate with the engineering and operations teams to improve and expand our production system. The role will focus on improving key metrics including safety, quality, labor, and costs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Mapping plant production capacity - time study data collection, organizing data, and distribution to operations.
- Provide technical/subject matter expertise and guidance for the resolution of manufacturing process and product design problems.
- Design manufacturing flow lines, workstation layouts, and station controls that optimize efficiency, operating costs, and product quality.
- Generate work instructions and standardized work to ensure quality at the source meets product and manufacturing specifications given local needs.
- Collaborate with quality engineering in root cause analysis initiatives and turn root cause findings into actionable improvement projects.
- Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Integrate new tools/fixtures/gauges/equipment that provide a positive impact to improving the processes.
- Uphold manufacturing standards including: machine capability, process maps, set-ups, quality controls, tooling and fixture records, routings and cycle times.
- Partner with on-site EHS to ensure all equipment meets safety regulations compliant with OSHA.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, chemical, or manufacturing preferred)
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in an engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
- Must demonstrate superior communication and organizational skills.
- Background working on the shop floor with operations staff to assist in solving issues.
- Understand operational theory of automatic transmissions.
- Experience with assembly of complex hydraulic/mechanical assemblies.
- Proven experience in tracking and understanding manufacturing operations and implementing solutions to drive continuous improvement.
- Functional in AutoCAD, Solidworks, Excel, Power-point, and other related programs.
- Must possess solid mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
- Must demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills with the ability to multi-task
- Must be extremely flexible regarding priority changes.
- Individual must be fluent in speaking, reading and writing English. Ability to speak Spanish is preferred.
- Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret procedures and/or safety manuals.
- Must be a self-starter and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
