NoJob SummaryThe primary responsibility of the Manufacturing Engineer is planning and creating manufacturing processes within an industrial setting. The Engineer may enhance production methods, assess manufacturing capacity, and establish production timetables. The employee will assist in the design, production, modification, and assessment of manufacturing procedures like machining, metal forming, plastics processing, welding, and brazing, assembly, and material handling.
Essential Duties- Develops, evaluates, and enhances manufacturing techniques.
- Analyzes and strategizes workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and devises equipment and workspace layout for optimal efficiency.
- Executes manufacturing processes such as concrete molding, plastic injection molding, plastic extrusion, plastic thermoforming, plastic recycling, and chemical blending.
- Collaborates with planning and design teams on product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
- Consults with vendors to determine product specifications and coordinate equipment, material, or part purchases, and evaluates products based on standards and specifications.
- Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and associated costs for managerial decision-making.
- Engages with management, engineering, and other staff to discuss manufacturing capabilities, production timetables, and other factors to streamline production processes.
- Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
- Builds rapport with frontline team members and actively seeks opportunities to improve operation and processes.
- Utilizes statistical methods to forecast future manufacturing needs and potential.
- Offers technical guidance and supports the training of less experienced engineers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Educational RequirementsRequired- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field or 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- 5 - 7 years of experience as an engineer in manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, 2D, CAD, and solid modeling
- Proficiency in internet research skills
- Experience working in a fast paced and high-volume work environment.
- Proactive "self-starter" with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with employees on all levels, including executive leadership, as well as customers
