Role: Manual Tester

Work Arrangement: Onsite, all working days

Location Requirement: Candidates must have an Austin area home address at least 7 days prior to the start date.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Manual Tester with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on development experience and recent hands-on testing experience. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in test case development, defect management, Agile testing, API testing, Linux/Unix batch processing, file validation, relational databases, and SQL. Experience with Integrated Eligibility projects is preferred.

Required Skills
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on development experience with recent hands-on testing experience.
• Proficiency in writing test cases based on User Stories (US) and Epics.
• Expertise with defect management tools including ALM.
• Experience with testing levels including Sprint and Regression testing in Agile environments.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down complex systems using User Story and Epic documentation.
• Experience delivering live Sprint demos.
• Experience with API testing using REST and SOAP.
• Experience using JIRA or JIRA plugins for defect tracking.
• Experience running batch jobs in Linux/Unix environments using PuTTY.
• Hands-on experience mocking inbound files based on Storyboards.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases such as Oracle or similar.
• Strong understanding of database principles and ability to write SQL beyond basic data access.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and professional skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with clients and teams.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a self-driven, detail-oriented approach.

Preferred Skills
• Functional experience working on Integrated Eligibility projects.
• Knowledge of SDLC processes.
• Automation experience developing scripts using existing or new frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
• Create and execute test scripts.
• Produce required testing and project documentation.
• Participate in project meetings and discussions.
• Support required project activities.
• Perform Sprint and Regression testing in an Agile environment.
• Analyze User Stories and Epics to develop appropriate test scenarios and test cases.
• Execute API, database, batch, and file-based testing as required.

Education Requirement
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
