Full Job Description
Managing Technical Consultant, Compliance Engineer based in the Indianapolis, Indiana area, you'll play a strategic role in helping organizations navigate evolving environmental regulations, reduce risk, and elevate performance. At ERM, you won't just deliver compliance-you'll influence how leading companies operate responsibly at scale.

What You'll Bring:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance, permitting, and auditing
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects within scope, budget, and schedule
  • Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and building collaborative teams
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for client engagement
  • Ability to travel up to 20% regionally and occasionally nationally
  • Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area
  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship
Preferred:
  • Certifications such as HAZWOPER, CHMM, or similar


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical expertise and oversight on hazardous waste, hazardous materials, and compliance projects
  • Manage project execution, including budgeting, QA/QC, and regulatory assessments
  • Lead development of compliance plans, permits, and reports (air, EPCRA, SPCC, stormwater, NPDES, wastewater)
  • Conduct environmental audits and implement corrective actions to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with ERM subject matter experts to deliver integrated solutions
  • Build strong client relationships and maintain scope, budget, and schedule expectations
  • Support ERM Partners-in-Charge and Project Managers in delivering high-quality outcomes
