As a Managing Investment Officer, Nuclear Vertical Lead
, you will:- Directs a discrete team of Senior Investment Officers, Investment Analysts, and multi-disciplinary contractors as a first-line supervisor.
- Performs in-depth financial evaluations and market analyses to assess project creditworthiness, evaluate risks, and manage the underwriting process.
- Prepares and oversees the development of authoritative loan transaction documents, financial models, and recommendations for credit committee approvals.
- Coordinates and leads high-level meetings with project sponsors, CFOs, and legal divisions to negotiate the commercial and financial terms of loan agreements.
- Advises senior managers on risks associated with national security, foreign investments, and emerging technologies crucial to economic competitiveness.
- Directs and guides procurement activities for specialized financial consulting contracts, including establishing performance metrics and scopes of work.

- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing.
- New supervisors/managers are required to serve a one-year probationary period.
- New supervisors are required to complete 80 hours of supervisory training of which 40 hours must be completed during your first year as a supervisor.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- This position is not included in a Bargaining Agreement.
- FAC-C II (or equivalent) certification needs to be submitted prior to your formal job offer.
QualificationsSPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following
- Experience leading the end-to-end underwriting, due diligence, and financial evaluation process for large-scale energy or infrastructure projects, including validating financial models and assessing project creditworthiness.
- Experience leading high-stakes negotiations regarding terms, conditions, and agreements with external entities (e.g., project sponsors, C-suite executives, or legal counsel) and presenting finalized recommendations to senior-level investment committees or boards.
- Experience providing expert, actionable advice to senior leadership on project-related risks, including navigating complex legislative, policy, or national security considerations, to ensure project alignment with broader economic or strategic objectives.
