Overview

This is a hybrid role with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.

First Citizens Asset-Based Lending, part of the company's Commercial Finance group, meets clients' working capital needs by offering innovative structures that reduce funding costs and lower operational risks while improving earnings by leveraging accounts receivable, inventory or fixed assets as collateral.

The Managing Director, Relationship Manager - ABL is responsible for acquiring and managing and enhancing Asset Based Lending relationships. Develops and maintains an active prospect list, client outreach plan and quality referral sources. The Managing Director role is the primary contact to provide products and services which support the unique financial needs of clients. Providing senior secured debt financing for ABL projects with key focus areas including automotive, manufacturing, retail and consumer products. This position collaborates with various corporate partners to build and manage full banking relationships. May act as a team lead, mentor or resource for less experienced team members.

Responsibilities

  • Sales & Marketing - Utilizes direct calling and centers of influence (COIs) to develop relationships and generate financing for clients. Identifies sales opportunities through clients and referral partners. Stays informed on market and industry trends, and develops strategies based on changing market needs.
  • Relationship Development - Maintains and develops influential relationships within the market to create sales and referral opportunities. Manages customer and prospect relationships, referring sales partners or other associates as appropriate to carry sales relationships to completion.
  • Operations and Administration - Comply with all regulations, bank policies, procedures and delegated authorities to manage risk related to credit, operational, reputational, regulatory and legal aspects of personal interactions, customer transactions and financial exposures. Complete required training by established deadlines.
  • Loan Support - Works in partnership with underwriting and portfolio management teams to package deals for Credit Administration approval.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience in Commercial Banking, Relationship Management, Sales OR High School Diploma or GED and 14 years of experience in Commercial Banking, Relationship Management, Sales

Preferred:

  • MBA Business Administration, Finance, Economics
  • Asset Based Lending


Other:

  • Candidate should be a self-starter with an established book of business and well established network for developing new opportunities.
  • Structuring complex asset-based transactions and good knowledge of an ABL Credit Agreement.


If hired in New York the base pay for this position is generally between $235,000.00 and $260,000. If hired in Chicago, Illinois the base pay for this position is generally between $215,000.00 and $$225,000.00. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
