Job DescriptionMANAGING DIRECTOR, PUBLIC SECTOR CLIENT EXECUTIVE We're seeking a future team member for the role of Managing Director, Client Executive to join our Public Sector team. This role is in Washington DC.
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Develop and implement client coverage strategy across Public Sector - Federal, State & Local, GSEs and MDBs optimizing client relationships and outcomes.
- Oversee deal structures and set negotiation standards; review and approve terms to balance client value and firm objectives while mitigating risk.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and enable teams with firm-wide resources (marketing, legal, compliance) to deliver best-in-class proposals and client experiences.
- Define key metrics, track sales analyses and results, and establish constructive feedback loops to inform service and strategic product development.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; advanced/graduate degree preferred.
- 15+ years of total +experience, preferably in banking with Federal, State & Local, GSEs, MDBs
- Prior experience in customer-facing Sales and Sales Enablement roles such as Sales Support, Global Capital Markets, or Product Management.
- Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business; strong understanding of the marketplace, competitive landscape, and industry drivers.
- Demonstrated people leadership: lead recruitment, manage and develop teams, coach subordinate managers, and foster mentorship and ongoing skill development.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $136,500 and $400,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
