We are seeking a Managing Director, Data & Analytics to join our team

Summary

This position is responsible for developing and leading an Enterprise Analytics team consisting of report writers, data scientists, and analysts. Working cross-functionally to create an enterprise data governance strategy, this role ensures the effective collection, analysis, and interpretation of data to enable informed decision-making across the organization. This role drives the strategic vision, execution, and leadership of the company's data and analytics initiatives across multiple platforms to improve business results.

Responsibilities:
  • Under minimal supervision and heavy decision-making:
  • Builds data and analytics practices that elevate data-driven decision making across the enterprise; functioning as the internal subject matter expert, consultant, and trusted advisor.
  • Leads and develops a team of data professionals, including data scientists and data analysts. Fosters a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning across these roles in all parts of the organization to streamline reporting effectiveness, accuracy and relevancy.
  • Establishes and institutes data governance policies to ensure data quality, integrity, consistency, and security. Ensures analytics activities across the enterprise adhere to best practice security and compliance standards.
  • Oversees the development and delivery of advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and business intelligence solutions that provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with departments to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and build dashboards for monitoring performance across key business initiatives and priorities.
  • In partnership with ITS, evaluates and implements data management tools, analytics platforms, and software to optimize data processing and analysis. Stays up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
  • Collaborates closely with executive leadership, IT, marketing, finance, operations, and other departments to understand data needs and deliver solutions that drive business value. Communicates findings and insights effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Manages multiple data and analytics projects, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to enterprise best practices and disciplines, and alignment with business priorities.
  • Develops metrics to measure the effectiveness of data initiatives and report on their impact on business outcomes.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or advanced degree in Business, Statistics, Psychology, or a related field is required.
  • 15+ years of demonstrated experience and achievement in one or more of the following quantitative disciplines: data science, statistics, applied mathematics, economics, or advanced analytics is required.
  • Experience working in business services is preferred; marketing, sales, operational analytics experience is preferred.
  • Experience using machine learning techniques such as logistic regression and random forest regression/classification modeling is preferred.
  • Experience with advanced statistical modeling techniques such as latent class analysis, multidimensional scaling, and principal components analysis is preferred.
  • Experience with unstructured data is preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise CRM and related analytical tools is preferred, especially Salesforce and Einstein.
  • Technical, hands-on experience executing "big data" research programs using mainstream data-science tools such as Python, SQL, R, Hive, Spark, Hadoop and Scala is preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of applied statistics: assessing population and sample distributions and applying the appropriate methodology based on the data, descriptive, inferential, and predictive analysis, and non-parametric methods.
  • Excellent executive presence and communications skills required. Ability to bridge the gap between data science and business strategy/management.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail, complimented by an ability to understand and articulate the "big picture" to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to improve business outcomes by applying practical research and analytical tools; capable of consulting with business teams to recommend, design, construct, and apply findings from these initiatives.
  • Collaborative approach to working with others and persuasive communication skills at all management levels is critical.
