Manager to join our Valuations & Modelling team in
Kitchener-Waterloo. We are looking for dynamic candidates with strong technical valuation expertise and financial modelling capabilities to support the delivery of high-quality valuation services.

This is a new role, and will focus on delivering valuation services while continuing to develop your technical valuation expertise in the following areas:
- Business Valuations: Manage business valuation engagements for financial reporting, tax planning, compliance, and transaction advisory purposes.
- Litigation Support: Manage litigation support engagements including family law matters and commercial disputes.
- Investment Entity Reviews: Support investment entity and investment holding entity reviews in accordance with CBV standards for large enterprise clients and institutional investors, supporting tax planning, compliance, and transaction-related requirements.
- Fairness Opinions: Support fairness opinion engagements by preparing financial analysis and valuation assessments related to mergers and acquisitions, corporate transactions, and strategic initiatives.
- Audit Assistance: Support BDO's assurance practice in assessing the fair value of assets and liabilities, helping ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Financial Instruments: Provide valuation analysis using recognized methodologies and models for complex financial instruments including derivatives, employee stock options, senior debt, and other securities.
In this role, you will also:
- Collaborate and Support Team Development: Mentor and support junior team members, including CBV students and analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Manage Engagement Execution: Coordinate engagement activities to ensure timely, high-quality delivery within scope and budget while maintaining adherence to professional standards.
- Perform Technical Valuation Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and valuation modelling using established methodologies to support complex engagements.
- Prepare Reports and Deliverables: Develop and review valuation reports, presentations, and supporting documentation aligned with professional and regulatory standards.
- Engage with Clients: Work directly with clients to gather information, understand business drivers, and communicate valuation findings effectively.
- Support Practice Development: Assist senior team members with proposals, RFP responses, and identifying opportunities to expand client engagements.

Your experience and education - You have strong business acumen with a demonstrated interest in business valuations, litigation support, corporate finance, and capital markets.
- You have a solid understanding of valuation methodologies, financial modelling, and financial statement analysis.
- You have completed a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., accounting, finance, economics, or business).
- You have 4-8 years of professional experience, including direct experience in valuation advisory, financial modelling, or financial analysis.
- You are CBV designated or actively pursuing the CBV.
- CPA or CFA designations are considered assets.
- You have experience supporting business valuation and litigation support engagements for family law and/or commercial matters (considered an asset).
- You demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple engagements in a fast-paced professional services environment.
- You bring a collaborative mindset and work effectively within cross-functional teams.
The expected range of compensation for this role is $88,000-$134,000 annually.
