What you will do The Manager, Thermal Systems Product Engineering leads a team of thermal product development engineers within Data Center Thermal Solutions Engineering. This is a people-leadership role responsible for directing engineers from entry level through Principal in the design and development of cooling products for data center applications. The Manager owns team performance, talent development, resource allocation, and execution of the thermal product development portfolio while maintaining strong hands-on technical depth. This role ensures the team converts research and advanced development outputs into manufacturable, field-deployable thermal products across the full thermal chain from server-level heat capture to ambient heat rejection, and serves as the primary interface between the engineering team and the broader organization on staffing, schedule, and capability matters.
How you will do it - Lead, coach, and develop a team of thermal product engineers (entry level through Principal); own hiring, performance management, career development, and retention
- Allocate engineering resources across the thermal product development portfolio, balancing staffing against project priorities, schedules, and skill requirements
- Provide senior technical direction and design review, guiding the team's approaches to thermal analysis, component and subsystem design, and validation
- Own execution of thermal product development projects, tracking scope, schedule, and deliverables from concept through production release
- Represent the engineering team in cross-functional planning with research, controls, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality
- Drive skill development and adjacency planning to sustain cross-domain capability across thermal, controls, and electrical disciplines
- Establish and improve product development processes, design standards, and documentation practices within the team
- Manage departmental operating priorities and contribute to budget and capacity planning
What you will need
Required - Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant thermal product development and project experience
- Demonstrated people leadership, including supervision and talent development
- Track record of delivering products from concept through production, with cross-domain knowledge across thermal, controls, and electrical systems
- People leadership: direct supervision of engineers, including performance management, coaching, development, and resource and schedule planning across concurrent projects
- Technical foundation in thermal engineering fundamentals (heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics) and component and system sizing, sufficient to direct and review the team's work
