As the manager of the Test Engineering team at Photon Control Inc., a subsidiary of MKS Instruments, Inc. you play a key role in the testing, development and delivery of cutting-edge optical sensor solutions required for advanced semiconductor fabrication. In this role, you will report to the Director, Advanced Development.
You Will Make an Impact By: - Provide strong technical vision and leadership, including planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the Test Engineering team.
- Ensure that all testing activities, both internal and external, are in compliance with best practices, quality standards, safety regulations, and cost objectives.
- Lead the development of reliability prediction and assessment models. Provide reliability mathematical analysis and technical inputs to ensure a robust design of customer products.
- Lead the development of adequate reliability test portfolios, including accelerated stress screening and environmental stress testing, on new designs, processes, or materials.
- Ensure all work is properly documented.
- Develop and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test procedures, and test reports.
- Use statistical analysis software to analyze data and draw data-based conclusions.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product Development and Manufacturing, to ensure successful product launches.
- Lead continuous improvement and the evaluation and development of new test and reliability protocols, equipment and test automation and certification required for current and next generation products.
- Guide and participate in the development of new concepts, capabilities, processes and equipment required for future products.

- Maintain test and reliability labs and equipment to ensure adequate capability to support sustaining and development programs.
Skills You Bring: - Bachelor's or advanced degree in electrical, mechanical optical or related engineering, materials science or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience with precision functional testing and reliability testing for new product or technology development, with at least 5 years of experience in a leadership or management role.
- Strong technical and learning skills, including ability to innovate in the development of new characterization capabilities.
- Strong experience with statistical analysis software - JMP, Minitab.
- Expert level of knowledge in reliability with a focus on DFMEA, reliability assessment and demonstration testing, and reliability predictions on electronic devices and mechanical assemblies.
- Extensive knowledge of reliability models and standards and ability to apply them with flexibility when conducting reliability analyses.
- Experience with test automation, including automated test strategies, scripting and framework development, test equipment integration, and improving efficiency and repeatability in validation processes.
- Project management experience, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Self-driven, highly motivated individual with ability to multi-task and manage multiple high-technology projects and a desire to embrace and drive change.
- Excellent leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead and influence in a collaborative, cross-functional group to meet strategic objectives in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills:- Experience with optical systems and/or sensors.
- P. Eng. or eligible for P. Eng.

Compensation: Salary Pay Range: $110,000 to $160,000 per year. This range is a reasonable expectation of pay for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience, education, training, operational and business needs and other considerations.
