About the RoleWe are looking for a
Manager, Technical Program Management to lead and grow our Foundations TPM team. You will report to the Senior Manager of TPM within Engineering Operations and partner closely with Directors in Foundations Engineering to establish the vision and technical direction for our core systems.
In this role, you aren't just managing people; you are overseeing a portfolio of critical initiatives across
Data Platforms, Data Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, and Developer Platform. You will ensure your team successfully drives programs related to reliability, security, capacity planning, and large-scale migrations.
You must be located in San Francisco, CA, Sunnyvale, CA, or Seattle, WA for this hybrid position.

- Nurture Stakeholders: Earn trust across the organization by managing expectations from leadership to individual contributors, ensuring accountability and clear communication.
- Optimize Processes: Develop "light-touch" frameworks for tracking OKRs and resource allocation that align with DoorDash's fast-paced culture.
We're excited about you because you have...- Technical Depth: You have a strong understanding of modern engineering practices, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience in the Domain: You have managed or driven programs specifically within data engineering, infrastructure, or developer platforms.
- Proven Leadership: You have a track record of building consensus while dealing with the ambiguity of a rapidly evolving engineering landscape.
- Execution Focus: You operate at the lowest level of detail when necessary, reviewing technical specs and assessing trade-offs to ensure program success.
- Empathetic Management: You lead with empathy, seeking and providing timely feedback to foster an inclusive and innovative team environment.
Qualifications- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- TPM Experience: 5+ years of experience as a TPM or Engineering leader, ideally within an infrastructure or platform organization.
- Management Experience: At least 2 years of experience directly managing a team of TPMs or engineers in a relevant technical domain.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills; able to convey complex infrastructure concepts to both technical experts and non-technical stakeholders.
- Execution: Strong skills in project planning, estimating, and scheduling, with a focus on progress and pragmatic solutions.
CompensationThe successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee's work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.

- For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
- For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).
The national base pay range for this position within the United States, including Illinois and Colorado.
$231,200-$340,000 USD
