Hyatt Hotels Corporation seeks an enthusiastic Manager to join our Technical Accounting team. The Role
The Manager of Technical Accounting will play a key role in evaluating complex transactions and leading Hyatt's quarterly and annual impairment process. They will partner with key stakeholders to ensure non-routine transactions are properly accounted for and disclosed. They will be responsible for the preparation and/or review of certain disclosures included in Hyatt's 10-Q and 10-K filings. A successful candidate for this role will be strong in technical accounting, financial reporting, and analytical skills and have strong communication skills. They will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities include:
• Perform complex accounting research, most notably under U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations, and prepare or review technical accounting memos to support conclusions
• Partner with Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, Finance teams, and other stakeholders to understand, analyze, and report complex accounting matters
• Review quarterly and annual impairment and CECL analyses
• Oversee and review certain quarterly fair value updates
• Prepare and/or review certain quarterly and annual disclosures within Hyatt's 10-Q and 10-K filings
• Prepare and/or review disclosure checklists to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
• Prepare materials for Hyatt's Audit Committee of the Board of Directors' meetings
• Review new or amended contracts and provide feedback on accounting implications
• Review new accounting pronouncements issued quarterly to determine applicability and assist with implementation as needed
• Coach, supervise, and mentor senior accountants
• Demonstrate a commitment to Hyatt core values
Qualifications:
Experience Required
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• 6+ years of experience in accounting and/or public accounting
Experience Preferred:
• Experience working in technical accounting
• SEC and financial reporting experience
• Financial ERP / Reporting system knowledge (Hyperion preferred)

The salary range for this position is $98,000 - $135,000. This position is also eligible to earn incentive awards, an annual bonus, monthly or quarterly incentives, etc.
The final pay rate/salary offered to the successful candidate will depend on experience, skill level, and other qualifications for the role, as well as the location of the performance of work. Pay for the successful candidate will meet local requirements, including the local minimum wage rate.
