Manager, Tax (Century City, CA)What We OfferWe are seeking a Tax Manager to join the U.S. Tax team, supporting tax planning, structuring, and reporting across a complex real estate platform. This role works closely with VP of US Tax and is responsible for developing analysis, modeling, and deliverables across planning, provision, and compliance activities.
Scope- Contribute to U.S. tax planning and structuring analyses, including modeling impacts across federal, state, REIT, and financing considerations.
- Support transaction structuring and analysis for acquisitions, dispositions, and financings, including preparation of step plans and detailed calculations.
- Build and maintain tax models to support forecasting, planning, and internal decision-making.
- Prepare technical memoranda and supporting analysis for key tax positions and transactions.
- Monitor tax law developments and reflect impacts in modeling and planning outputs.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external advisors on transaction execution and planning deliverables.
- Prepare the U.S. income tax provision under IFRS and U.S. GAAP, including supporting schedules and analysis of return-to-provision differences.
- Execute components of tax compliance, including estimates, REIT testing, withholding, and dividend calculations, ensuring consistency with planning positions.
- Maintain transaction documentation and summaries for compliance, FIN 48/UTP, and structural tracking; review tax notices and draft responses.
- Support tax audits and controversy matters, including information gathering and analysis.
- Perform key tax operational activities, including tax payments, cash tax tracking, and coordination with finance and third-party providers.
- Work within tax systems and data processes, supporting system updates, data integrity, and process improvements.
- Provide transaction-related and REIT technical support to internal stakeholders and contribute to management reporting.
What We Are Looking For- Big 4 (or equivalent) experience preferred, with combined public accounting and industry experience.
- Experience with U.S. tax planning and transaction analysis, ideally within real estate or asset-heavy environments.
- Working knowledge of REIT rules and partnership structures, including allocations and debt considerations.
- Hands-on experience with tax provision preparation (IFRS and U.S. GAAP).
- Experience building or maintaining tax models and forecasts (QFR, long-range planning, scenario analysis).
- Exposure to tax compliance processes and interaction between provision and compliance.
- Strong technical, analytical, and modeling skills, with the ability to operate independently and deliver high-quality work.
Compensation- Exempt
- $113,000 - $142,000 + Discretionary Annual Bonus
