Job Summary

This role leads the execution of an industry leading factory social responsibility program in home furnishings. Ownership in managing remediation and capacity building with vendors and factories to impact long term improvements. Promote awareness of our program expectations to local country team as well as our factories through regular trainings and communications. Build effective relationships with external and internal business partners with the goal of having the most optimized and sustainable supply chain across the region.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute WSI's social responsibility program across key factories
    • Manage third party audit program including scheduling, reports reviews, tracking performance and cost management.
    • Monitor and manage factory remediation plans and provide the expertise and support needed to enable sustained improvements
    • Lead the development and delivery of key training to factories and Brand teams to increase education and awareness on WSI social responsibility protocols and expectations
    • Build effective relationships with Brand teams and vendors to solicit their commitment and support to impact improvements at partner factories
    • Be a key thought partner to support senior management team to establish and execute social responsibility policies and protocols
    • Act as a local law expert for vendors/factories to provide guidance and direction on adhering to the local law requirements
    • Represent WSI and its interests in multi-stakeholder groups, including external stakeholders, government officials, NGOs, etc. as directed by Management
    • Research and recommend CSR best practices within the industry/region to share with factories as well as internally to continuously improve WSI social responsibility program.
    • Escalate potential crisis situations to management, as appropriate
    • Manage regular reporting requirements as directed by management

COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Social Studies or a related field
  • 8 years or above experience in the field of social responsibility either at an audit firm or a retailer (auditing, developing or enforcing implementation)
  • 2 years or above management / leadership experience
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong information-seeking skills and a drive to make things happen
  • Ability to understand challenges or underlying concerns, share ideas and develop effective responses or elevate to higher management
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group
  • Ability to network, influence, and utilize internal and external resources

The expected starting pay range for this position is $115,000 - $125,000. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to competitive pay, compensation may include a variety of other components like benefits, paid time off, merit, and bonus opportunities.
