Reports to:Senior Director, Strategy

Location: North Vancouver, BC

As the Manager, Strategy you will support the enablement of our long-term strategic plan, through cross-functional project management and strategy development. You will be responsible for driving key projects forward; including defining the timelines, developing, and managing the project plan, delivering key areas of work, and working with the team to see progress and unblock challenges along the way.

This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is expected to be performed on-location.

Meet Your Future Team:

The Strategy team, which sits within the Brand Marketing function, partners with the executive leadership team in the development, prioritization, and oversight of our company strategies, working cross-functionally across the business to ensure attainment of our long-term strategic objectives and goals. The team provides strategic insights and frameworks to enable strategy development, cross-functional alignment and executive decision making. We are experts at translating complex, unstructured problems into clear executive level narrative and recommendations. Our team leads the company's long-range strategic planning process and quarterly business reviews to connect our strategy to our annual operating budget and annual strategic plan.

If you were the Manager, Strategy, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Structuring strategic problems and developing frameworks that help cross-functional stakeholders identify opportunities and solve complex challenges
  • Building data-informed strategies and connecting insights to strategic direction, helping to spread a culture of insights throughout Arc'teryx
  • Developing comprehensive stakeholder engagement plans to ensure the right people are in the right conversations
  • Creating compelling communication materials including meeting content, presentations, and strategic updates, to align and inform stakeholders at all levels
  • Connecting cross-functional dots to ensure strategy is understood and executed across the organization
  • Collaborating cross-functionally to drive the annual business planning process, weaving long-term strategies into actionable annual plans
  • Leading the development and management of tools, processes, and governance to execute against strategic and business plans
  • Establishing project foundations and end-to-end project plans, including governance, ways of working, key stakeholders, meeting cadence, deliverables, and timelines
  • Driving and delivering project work, including progress reporting to senior leaders
  • Identifying risks proactively, developing mitigation solutions, and escalating as needed
  • Assessing change management requirements to ensure successful project rollout and implementation


Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

  • Leading end-to-end business case development for new product, brand, and business opportunities. Structuring complex problems, building data-informed recommendations, and aligning cross-functional stakeholders on strategic direction
  • Owning the full lifecycle of high-visibility, high-impact project. Establishing governance, managing project plans and timelines, driving cross-functional progress, and proactively identifying and mitigating risks to ensure successful delivery
  • Crafting compelling executive-level narratives and presentations for board meetings, investor days, and senior leadership forums. Translating complex, unstructured information into clear, actionable storylines for senior audiences


Are you our next Manager, Strategy?

  • You have a bachelor's degree in business, strategy, or related field
  • You have 5+ years of professional work experience in strategic planning, management consulting, project management, consumer products and/or retail
  • You have 3+ years of project management experience and have experience using project management software
  • You have a demonstrated track record as an outstanding problem solver and strategic thinker with the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights
  • You have a strong understanding of retail and consumer-facing businesses
  • You have a proven track record of successfully directing cross-functional projects
  • You can work in and bring structure to ambiguous environments
  • You have the capacity to synthesize information into effective strategies and innovative insights, translating complex ideas into simple, actionable recommendations
  • You have high emotional intelligence, influencing skills, and communication skills to collaborate with senior executive stakeholders
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to build strategic narratives and impactful executive-level presentations
  • You have strong leadership, facilitation, and analytical skills

Compensation

The salary range for this role is CAD$108,000 - CAD$135,000.

This range reflects market alignment and the scope of the role. Individual pay is determined by your skills, experience, and level of responsibility.
