Summary

Drive the strategic plans for the site/customer. Advance subject matter expertise of the overall strategic plans for the site/customer. Coach and mentor others on their strategic activities. This includes ensuring that both the technical and people aspects are taken into account, incorporating change management strategies. Manage resources to effectively help execute the site/function strategy deployment plans.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

Provides leadership oversight for all SCM related matters for customer(s).

Provides support to the team on management of materials availability to support build plans throughout the product life cycle for a specific business unit or customer set.

Provides direction for source selection and supports the effort to identify and develop suppliers to meet current and future business needs.

Supports efforts to reduce material cost and assess/respond to supply risks.

Supports the development of delivery requirements, material plans and short-range capacity plans to meet production schedules and inventory objectives.

Advises the supply chain management process for customers from materials pricing and BOM analysis to delivery execution and flexibility performance.

Works cross functionally to optimize Design for supply chain performance of Celestica products.

Responsible for customer interface from SCM including relationship management and as focal point for all SCM related issues, strategies and requirements.

Maintains responsibility for a set of projects jointly developed by Celestica and customers.

Deploys systems and processes ensuring customer satisfaction.

Coordinates the response on all SCM customer enquiries.

Participates in business process improvements to help achieve inventory targets and maximize return on investment.

Works to ensure Celestica is compliant with customs and regulatory laws.

Interfaces with cross functional teams to ensure negotiations meet business requirements and growth plans.

Supports working capital assumptions in the quote process, and later leads SCM optimization efforts to achieve or exceed quoted turns and plan.

Quotes and negotiates critical high dollar or strategic commodities or provides direction to a team of commodity managers.

Supports freight & logistics optimization efforts for ensuring favorable rates and cycle times for Celestica and customers.

Drives customer engagement on demand planning, demand management, commitments, non-performing inventory and future process changes /improvements.

Provides direction and support to site teams on SIOP, GAP inventory reviews and Strategic inventory proposals to customers.

Provides strategic supply chain expertise, support and innovative solutions to internal SCM stakeholders and customers. Has responsibility for supply chain strategy for customers within their market and drives the initiatives with sites to support customer and Celestica requirements.

Supports the SCM portion for the customer QBRs and with senior management at key/strategic suppliers, escalations and driving KPI improvement initiatives.

Supports the team to ensure contractual claims for SCM related costs are recovered (e.g. E&O claims, premium for shortage management, NRE) and follow up escalations with customers for resolutions.

Supports market teams to optimize working capital performance.

Collaborates with customers on proposals, expedites and premiums and manages risks/liabilities for CLS, and provides guidance to ensure capacity is installed as needed.

Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers.

Provides leadership in the analysis of cost customer bids or quarterly BOM Costing exercises for global customers.

Provides support to Commodity Management teams on contract negotiations.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

Extensive knowledge of an electro/mechanical manufacturing environment, materials and processes.

In-depth knowledge and understanding of global supply chain management, demand planning, distribution methods, and global transportation services and inventory management.

Knowledge and application of continuous improvement principles including lean, six sigma, 8D, DFM, Kaizen events.

Good understanding of IT concepts and integrated business applications.

Strong knowledge in all areas of import / export, regulatory and logistics management.

Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem resolution skills.

Strong communication and presentation skills with a wide variety of internal and external customers.

Ability to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate a diverse group of employees.

Significant skills required in multi-tasking and time management.

Broad knowledge of Celestica's global supply chain including strategic policies and objectives and how they fit in.

Good understanding of the global business environment and Customers business, organization, products and processes.

Ability to interface cross functionally and with many international sites to establish strong working relationships and cooperation.

Ability to maintain external contacts with consultants, associations and other companies for benchmarking and networking.

Regular travel will be required (% may vary depending on the account).

Physical Demands

Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.

Duties of this position require continuous light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motion, standing, sitting in a confined work space,
