Role Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated, strategic, and organized professional to join WeirFoulds as our Manager, Strategic Initiatives & Chief of Staff to the Chair.
This unique role provides a front-row seat to the leadership, governance, and strategic direction of one of Canada's leading law firms. Working directly with the Chair and closely with the executive team, you will help turn ideas into action by coordinating firm-wide initiatives, supporting key decision-making processes, and ensuring strategic priorities remain on track.
You will play a key role in supporting the execution of the firm's strategic plan, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and driving accountability for key initiatives across the firm.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity with core work hours of Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We are currently operating a hybrid work model, and the successful candidate will be required to work in the office a minimum of three (3) days per week.
Responsibilities
- Support the execution, monitoring, and reporting of the firm's strategic plan and key priorities.
- Coordinate the execution of firm-wide strategic initiatives and special projects on behalf of the Chair and Leadership Team.
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, deliverables, and progress reporting.
- Responsible for escalating risks and recommending corrective action.
- Prepare briefing notes, presentations, business cases, research, and analysis to support executive decision-making.
- Support governance activities, including coordinating meeting materials, agendas, action items, and follow-up for leadership and governance committees.
- Develop dashboards, scorecards, and reporting tools to track progress against strategic objectives.
- Coordinate executive communications, presentations, and messaging on behalf of the Chair.
- Conduct market research, benchmarking, and business analysis to support strategic planning and organizational effectiveness.
- Work across legal and business services functions to ensure alignment, communication, and accountability.
- Identify risks, resolve roadblocks, and proactively advance strategic priorities and initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with partners, leaders, and stakeholders across the firm to facilitate collaboration and execution.
- Lead complex strategic initiatives and special projects assigned by the Chair requiring coordination across multiple stakeholder groups.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4-6 years of professional experience in consulting, professional services, corporate strategy, project management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Exceptional organizational, project management, written communication, and presentation development skills.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to build credibility and work effectively with senior leaders and stakeholders across the organization.
- Strong business acumen and interest in organizational strategy, governance, and leadership.
- Sound judgment, professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of integrity.
- A proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented mindset.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Political Science, Public Administration, Communications, or a related discipline.
