Manager, Special Markets (Mail Order/Wholesale)The Mail Order/Wholesale Manager will join a Special Markets team managing a diverse portfolio of accounts in the mail order, subscription box, ecommerce, specialty wholesale, and proprietary publishing channels. This Manager will manage key accounts in the mail order, wholesale, and subscription box channels while also identifying new opportunities for growth. This position will collaborate with wholly owned and distribution client publishers, in both Children's and Adult publishing, to match frontlist, backlist, and proprietary publishing opportunities with customer needs. The Manager will be responsible for conducting regular new business outreach to prospective customers as well as maintaining and strengthening relationships with existing accounts. In addition to working with buyers and publishing, the manager will work closely with a variety of key stakeholders across the company, including supply chain, production, customer service, and the warehouse to ensure successful order execution.
Primary Responsibilities Include:- Identifying, prospecting, and converting new business opportunities
- Maintaining and growing a key group of customers across mail order, specialty wholesale, and subscription box channels
- Presenting S&S and client titles across adult and children's divisions to new and existing customers
- Attending seasonal sales conferences and forecasting account inventory needs
- Working with publishing and other internal teams on proprietary publishing opportunities, as appropriate
- Collaborating across departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of customer orders
- Providing feedback to publishing stakeholders on market trends, customer needs, and new sales opportunities
Qualifications:- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders at all levels
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to take initiative
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Previous publishing, sales, account management, wholesale, or e-commerce experience preferred
