In short, as a Manager, Software Engineering on our team, you will oversee the end-to-end delivery of Pega projects, ensuring that timelines and quality standards are consistently met. In this management role, you will motivate and inspire your team, leveraging their unique strengths while managing performance to deliver on business expectations.
In long, our Manager, Software Engineering is responsible for:
Lead the planning, execution, and completion of features, managing project scope, risks, and dependencies to ensure successful delivery.
Analyze and identify linkages and interactions between component parts to ensure the integrity of the entire system.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collective ownership of quality and deliverables.
Set clear, measurable performance goals for team members and conduct regular 1:1s to track progress. Provide timely, actionable feedback and manage the full employee lifecycle—from hiring and onboarding to performance management and reviews.
Utilize code reviews and work assessments not just for quality control, but as opportunities to deepen team expertise.
Collaborate with senior stakeholders to provide strategic insights and effective automation solutions.
Proactively address conflicts or issues, engaging in difficult conversations with team members and stakeholders, and escalating only where appropriate.
What Kind of Folks Are We Looking For?
Technical Leadership: Proven ability to lead the delivery of complex Pega projects and design workflows using Pega capabilities.
Mentorship: Strong capability to effectively mentor others, develop skills outside of the team’s comfort zone, and guide junior members on Agile principles.
Strategic Communication: Ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and business needs, driving collaboration across cross-functional groups.
Continuous Learning: A mindset focused on utilizing innovative approaches to improve project outcomes and encouraging the team to do the same.
The Specifics.
5+ years of professional development experience and have lead teams informally or formally on large projects.
Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related field or equivelant work experience.
Experience having direct reports is preferred but not required.
Extensive experience designing workflows using Pega capabilities.
A track record of driving collaboration across cross-functional teams.
Deep understanding of Agile principles and experience mentoring teams on their application.
Ability to manage complex project scopes and mitigate risks effectively.
