We are looking for you to join our team as a Software Engineering Manager 2 based out of Woodland Hills, CA leading Agile Development teams. Our success is grounded in our ability to embrace change, move quickly and continuously drive innovation. The successful candidate will be collaborative, open, transparent, and team-oriented with a focus on team empowerment & shared responsibility, flexibility, continuous learning, and a culture of automation. This is fully onsite position located in Woodland Hills, CA working a 9/80 schedule.

What You'll Get to Do:
• Manage and lead a team in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, highly diverse assignments, and collaborative settings across all levels.
• Direct teams that deliver technical solutions in an agile software development environment
• Participate in planning and program performance, addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality for a work package, subsystem, or related work packages.
• Manage staffing and report status and metrics to program and functional leadership.
• Provide functional management to direct reports, including career guidance, staffing, interviewing/onboarding, coaching, and direct engagement.
• Develop and implement robust processes with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
• Interface with program leaders to coordinate staffing requirements and ensure the proper skill mix to support program activities.
• Mentor team members to develop skills and provide career guidance and development planning.

Basic Qualifications - Software Engineering Manager 2
• Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) with 8 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree in STEM with 6 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): software design, requirements, application development, integration, testing, and deployment.
• Proficiency in at least two of the following programming or scripting languages: C, Python, and/or Ada.
• Experience using software-management and workflow-automation tools such as Jira, ClearCase, Git, and ClearQuest.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage agile development technical teams.
• Knowledge of requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS.
• Experience generating and/or reviewing cost estimates or basis of estimate (BOE) documentation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance within the timeframe set by management.
• Must be able to work full-time onsite in Woodland Hills, CA.

Preferred Qualifications - Software Engineering Manager 2
• Master's degree in a technical field with 6 years of experience in a multi-discipline engineering environment, or a Ph.D. with 3 years of experience.
• Experience developing and implementing processes that improve product-development efficiency and accuracy.
• Proven track record of leading a team of engineers and establishing strong relationships with other functional organizations and program offices.
• Experience with failure-analysis techniques and methods (RCCAs).
• Technical project-management experience, including budget and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) expertise.
• Demonstrated success with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) philosophies and tools.
• Experience authoring and reviewing technical proposals.
• Experience with engineering planning, scheduling, metrics, earned-value systems, and workload forecasting.
• Active DoD Secret clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $161,100.00 - $241,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
