Position Description:

Trek Bicycle Corporation is seeking an accomplished and innovative Software Development Manager to lead our ERP engineering team, with a primary focus on the Sales & Distribution functional domain. This key, hands-on role serves as the primary interface between business partners, leadership, and technology staff-delivering high-quality technical solutions through a team of Software Engineers responsible for the development and support of our JDE ERP platform and integrated systems. This position leads a team that designs, builds, implements, documents, and supports technical solutions across the full ERP ecosystem-from architecture through go-live and ongoing production support-with deep ownership of Sales & Distribution and its connected third-party integrations.

Position Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of software engineers including performance reviews, career development plans, and regular one-on-one meetings, with a focus on developing deep Sales & Distribution domain expertise within the team.

• Lead a team of software engineers specializing in ERP systems, particularly JDE, with primary ownership of Sales & Distribution functional modules including:

• Sales order management

• Pricing and promotions

• Customer master data

• Product master data

• Distribution and fulfillment processes

• Returns and credit processing

• Transportation management

• Oversee the on-time delivery of ERP projects that meet business requirements and adhere to quality standards, with particular accountability for Sales & Distribution initiatives.

• Partner with Sales, Distribution, and Operations business stakeholders to gather, define, and prioritize requirements for ERP implementations, upgrades, and customizations.

• Lead technical scoping, system design, and go-live support for Sales & Distribution projects; translate complex business processes into robust ERP and integration solutions.

• Contribute to the development and execution of the ERP systems architecture and long-term roadmap, ensuring the Sales & Distribution ecosystem evolves to meet Trek's growth and operational needs.

• Ensure compliance with best practices in software development lifecycle (SDLC), including source control, unit testing, and deployment processes.

• Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units to ensure effective communication of requirements and solutions across all functional areas.

• Drive code review discipline across the team, covering both human- and agent-generated output, with a focus on defect prevention, security, and quality.

• Provide leadership in troubleshooting critical production issues across the ERP ecosystem and connected third-party applications, and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.

• Participate in leadership development exercises and contribute to strategic decision-making for enterprise systems.

• Oversee and promote AI-assisted work item discovery practices across the team: ensuring participation in recorded sessions, quality review of AI-drafted work items, and ARB-readiness of refined requirements.

• Champion responsible AI adoption across the team, setting standards for human-accountable engineering and ensuring all output is reviewed and approved by a person before release.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Five (5) or more years of experience in business and/or systems development, with at least two (2) years in a technical leadership or management role.

• Demonstrated desire and aptitude to mentor and foster professional growth of others through servant leadership.

• Exceptional listening, written, and verbal communication skills while interacting with technical teams, business stakeholders, and executive leadership.

• Proven track record of managing software engineering teams and delivering complex ERP projects.

• Expertise in JDE development tools and languages (e.g., Form Design Aid, Report Design Aid, Business Function development, Orchestrator Framework).

• Deep understanding of ERP business processes in Sales & Distribution, including sales order management, pricing, customer/product master data, distribution, fulfillment, and returns.

• Demonstrated ability to architect, document, and deliver end-to-end technical solutions across the full ERP development lifecycle.

• Experience integrating ERP with third-party systems; strong knowledge of API management, middleware tools, and enterprise integration approaches.

• Strong knowledge of database technologies used in ERP environments.

• Familiarity with cloud-hosted ERP solutions and hybrid deployment strategies.

• Proficiency in design patterns, source control systems (e.g., Git), unit testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong code review discipline applied to both human- and agent-generated output; ability to identify defects, security gaps, and quality issues across the team's work.

• Experience with Agile methodologies and related tools.

• Commitment to human-accountable engineering: all output approved by a person before release, no exceptions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience applying AI tools in ERP development workflows, with demonstrated ability to coach and guide a team in responsible AI adoption, including AI-assisted coding, intelligent automation, and AI-driven process analysis.

• Experience with key third-party systems in the Trek ERP ecosystem, including DSI (warehouse/distribution), Transform (data transformation), ProShip (shipping), Loftware (labeling), and Basware (accounts payable).

• Familiarity with JDE functional modules beyond Sales & Distribution, such as Finance, Manufacturing.

• Experience with integration development using APIs, EDI, web services, or middleware/SOA platforms, including JDE Orchestrator Framework or cloud integration tools.
