PayPal, Inc. seeks Manager, Software Development 2 in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Deliver the PayPal products to Merchants and Partners. Collaborate closely with involved domain teams and stakeholders and work towards the smooth delivery of the products. Manage a team of six to nine software engineers and work on their career progression. Work with the team to adhere to PayPal's values and leadership principles. Work closely with product, experience and integration teams to understand the developer needs and deliver the API(Application Programming Interface) that meets their needs. Articulate and communicate software design and development processes to technical and non-technical team members. Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers within the team and implement evaluations and improve per iteration. Deliver software for distributed systems with the high performance, scalability and availability. Provide and receive software design and implementation evaluations and improve per iteration. Analyze, design, and deliver software development solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies. Consult with senior management to recommend new software designs and project plans to be implemented. Identify and make recommendations to reduce software project risks. Lead project life cycle from initial kickoff through the software requirements analysis, design and implementation. Design detailed software application designs and develop training materials for team members to follow. Implement enterprise-level software system designs and work with one or more development teams to realize product design and implementation. Review and test newly implemented software upgrades to ensure proper functionality and performance. Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures. Telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus four years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
