Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at UChicago Medicine as a Manager of Sleep and Neurophysiology. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.

The Manager of Sleep and Neurophysiology will be primarily responsible for the direct, onsite management of daily operations across Sleep and Neurophysiology services. This role provides operational, financial, and programmatic leadership while ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care. The Manager serves as a champion for quality, safety, patient and family experience, and operational excellence, with accountability for performance metrics, budget oversight, and revenue cycle functions.

Essential Job Functions
  • Provide day-to-day onsite management of Sleep and Neurophysiology operations
  • Establish staff schedules and daily assignments to ensure appropriate coverage and efficient operations
  • Oversee time and attendance, including monitoring and managing overtime
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide ongoing coaching, and support staff development
  • Address practice-specific operational issues related to IS, facilities, EVS, equipment, and supplies
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies, including JCAHO, IDPH, AASM, ACNS, CAP/CLIA
  • Collaborate with providers and staff to optimize patient throughput and coordination of care
  • Monitor daily operational and performance reports and make real-time adjustments as needed
  • Write and update policies and procedures
  • Participate in service recovery at the point of issue and ensure appropriate follow-up and resolution
  • Promote a culture of customer service, quality, safety, and compassionate care
  • Works with the Assistant Director to lead and manage service line process improvement initiatives using structured project management tools
  • Design, implement, and optimize workflows across care settings to support operational efficiency and quality outcomes
  • Partner with physician and administrative leaders to develop, implement, and monitor growth strategies across key programs
  • Works with the Assistant Director to develop project timelines, deliverables, and accountability frameworks for initiatives spanning the service line
  • Provide regular project updates, performance summaries, and executive-level reports to leadership
  • Partner with leaders across UCM and BSD departments to support informed decision-making and strategic alignment
  • Supports the Assistant Director with financial planning, budget development, and ongoing expense management
  • Oversee billing processes and related revenue cycle functions to ensure accuracy and financial sustainability
  • Monitor current performance assessments, key metrics, and dashboards to drive data-informed decision making
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare and customer service
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to manage large and complex organizational units with varying needs
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross functional projects, including planning, execution, and communicating outcomes
  • Exceptional talent in the selection and mentoring of a high-quality team
  • Proven ability to use data to drive performance improvement
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
