DescriptionNorthrop Grumman, Mission Systems is looking for a Senior Manager of Field Engineering Services 3 in support of the Marine Systems Business Unit and the Navy's submarine fleet. The position will lead a team of approximately 40 engineering and maintenance personnel who permanently reside at the Naval Submarine Base in Kings Bay, Georgia. This is an onsite position. Remote work is not an option.
Job DutiesThe field operations team conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to products in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations, troubleshoots technical problems and issues, determines technical solutions in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommends actions to company or customer representatives for coordinated product solutions. The manager and team assess product needs in accordance with customer specifications, as well as conducting technical training and product briefings with customers, vendors and company representatives. Acts as the designated representative on-site to the customer's organization, and in particular senior corporate and military staff.
- Oversees the day-to-day operations at Field Site Kings Bay through leadership of subordinates. (Managers, Engineers, Support Staff)
- Acts as customer's on-site representative to senior military and corporate leadership
- Ensures all site responsibilities are executed IAW contract obligations and emergent fleet requirements
- Provides leadership and mentoring to management team and support staff
- Ultimately responsible for quality and safety in all operations at Field Site Kings Bay
- Collaborates with counterparts to leverage capabilities at the field site to benefit the enterprise when appropriate.
- Attends customer meetings. Travels to customer and company headquarters.
- Is responsible for talent acquisition at the site.
- Discusses and advises about Navy shipboard systems and processes
Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree and 15 years', or master's degree and 10 years' experience supporting the US Government, Government contracts, or project management in other industries.
- Experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either project lead or supervisor.
- Demonstrated success aligning teams, organizations to achieve a common goal.
- Secret or above U.S. Government Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:- Previous experience with the Navy, either as Active Duty, Civil Service, or Government Contractor.
- Previous experience with the Navy submarine service and/or shipboard weapon system constituents and operating principles.
Primary Level Salary Range: $130,600.00 - $195,800.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
