Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity in Indianapolis, IN for a Manager, Service Tools and Systems!

The Manager, Service Tools and Systems ensures that the Allison service channel has the electronic service tool software it needs to troubleshoot and diagnose, as well as has the essential tools to repair and service all Allison Transmission products. The role is also responsible for ensuring that the electronic tools (Allison DOC, TCM Reflash, and VCP) and essential tools are kept up-to-date as the products change, and that new tools are developed as needed. The Manager, Service Tools and Systems also leads the Calibration Support Service Engineer who provides calibration change support and TCM reflashing support to the Allison service channel, and responds to Allison DOC support inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand the evolving business and technical needs of the Allison service ecosystem
  • Management of Allison electronic and essential tool suppliers including daily management, review, selection, negotiation to ensure delivery of tool program objectives
  • Assure software change requests are created to define tool deliverables
  • Supervise work with electronic and essential tool suppliers to execute tools-related projects
  • Work with tools suppliers in the development and validation / testing phases
  • Lead the vendor contractual relationship in collaboration with Legal and Purchasing to make sure we have reliable vendors, and meet our profitability and program objectives.
  • Maintain annual electronic tools budget and 5-year capital project forecast
  • Provide tier 3 technical support for the electronic tools
  • Own communication plans related to tool offerings, including creation and maintenance of various service documents (Service Information Letters, Allison DOC User Guide, etc.)
  • Maintain effective communication with various internal departments such as service engineering, IS&S, control engineering, and software engineering
  • Represent the Aftermarket organization on Allisons cross-functional Controls System Team via delegate
  • Lead and develop team members including the Electronics Tools Program Specialist, Aftermarket Business Development Analyst, and the Calibration Support Service Engineer
    • Conduct team member performance reviews
    • Ensure Calibration Support Service Engineer meets required deliverables, service expectations.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    • Uninterrupted service of Allison electronic tools software allowing customers to troubleshoot and diagnose our products.
    • Availability of essential service tools to Allison channel enabling them to become a dealer and to repair our products.
    • Strong software and tool vendor relationships supported by consistent business reviews and performance tracking.
    • Exceptional support of Allison customers software, hardware tools and calibration needs.
    • Accurate capital forecasting and staying within capital and expense budget.

    Qualifications:
