Expected Salary $88,641 to $116,341

To determine final salary, Babcock considers a variety of factors including the successful Candidate's skills and experience and internal equity. The final base salary offer is at the Company's sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.

Description

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and administer Babcock Canada's Security and Information Assurance Program as Company Security Officer, ensuring compliance with contractual, regulatory, customer, and corporate requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve security objectives, policies, standards, procedures, metrics, and assurance activities that support business objectives and regulatory compliance.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, regulators, and government security authorities on security program matters.
  • Interpret and implement security requirements arising from contracts, regulations, the Industrial Security Program, the Controlled Goods Program, and corporate policies.
  • Assess security threats, vulnerabilities, and risks; recommend mitigation strategies; and provide expert security advice to leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Lead security assurance activities, including audits, inspections, monitoring, investigations, reporting, and corrective actions, and assess the effectiveness of security controls and program performance.
  • Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to align physical, personnel, information, and cyber security controls and protect classified, protected, and sensitive information and assets.
  • Oversee personnel security, facility security, access control, secure area accreditation, Controlled Goods Program activities, and related security administration requirements.
  • Provide security oversight, due diligence, and advice for contracts, suppliers, projects, business pursuits, acquisitions, partnerships, and other organizational initiatives.
  • Support travel security, incident response, emergency management, business continuity, crisis management, and organizational resilience activities as required.
  • Promote a positive security culture through awareness, engagement, education, and training initiatives across the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


The ideal canadidate brings:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in corporate, government, defence, industrial, or regulated security environments, including administration of the Industrial Security Program and Controlled Goods Program.
  • Experience developing and implementing security policies, procedures, risk management, compliance, and assurance programs.
  • Knowledge of physical and personnel security, including access control, investigations, audits, security clearances, screening, and visitor management.
  • Understanding of information security, cybersecurity, business continuity, and emergency management principles.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, report writing, communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders, customers, regulators, and government agencies.
  • Post-secondary education in Security Management or a related field is an asset.
  • Project management experience or certification is an asset.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain NATO Secret clearance, Controlled Goods registration, and ITAR eligibility.
