Your Responsibilities:

The Manager SAP Basis & Release governs, controls and executes the layer of Curtiss-Wright's SAP environment, and the critical bridge between SAP RISE.

A primary focus of this role is architecting, monitoring, and securing the SAP systems, middleware, and interfaces connecting SAP to Curtiss-Wright's non-SAP ERP systems, alongside application security, release governance, and vendor SLA management.

Location: Remote, US

Salary Range: $144,100.00 - 192,100.00

Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline only. Criteria such as the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, the scope of the specific position, as well as market and business considerations will be evaluated when extending an offer.

Your Challenge:
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure, resilient connecting the SAP core to Curtiss-Wright's other non-SAP ERP environments.
  • Administer and configure technical connections within SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), Integration Suite, or corporate enterprise middleware.
  • Perform cross-system technical troubleshooting to isolate, identify, and remediate data blockages and connection dropouts across multi-system pipelines.
  • Create release strategy for projects and run-state systems; ensure transport changes move through the landscape.
  • Own and govern the Transport Management System strategy and execution across the multi-tier landscape, importing transport requests and resolving code collision/dependency issues.
  • Coordinate code and configuration releases, performing dependency checks to avoid regression, collisions, or production downtime.
  • Lead the planning and execution of release activities, including release plans, coordination of testing with Business Process Owners and SAP functional/technical teams and communication of release status to stakeholders.
  • Govern SAP changes to the Change Advisory Board and ensure compliance and audit requirements are met before moving changes to production; facilitate CAB meetings and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained.
  • Maintain comprehensive release documentation (release notes, deployment plans, post-release reviews) and facilitate post-release reviews to capture lessons learned.
  • Establish and enforce release management processes and best practices, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and standards.
  • Request system copies/refreshes through the RISE portal and execute post-refresh application-level activities.
  • Drive "Clean Core" development practices, ensuring custom enhancements are built externally via BTP rather than modifying the standard ERP core.
  • Generate and present regular reports on release activities, status, and metrics to leadership.
  • Manage application-level data growth (archiving) and troubleshoot database locks caused by poorly written custom code.
  • Govern the global background job processing architecture, optimizing scheduling windows to balance system resource utilization.
  • Evaluate the business/technical impact of SAP-applied patches, trigger and schedule upgrades via the RISE portal, and lead internal testing and remediation efforts.
  • Coordinate downtime with business users and validate system availability following OS/patch cycles executed by SAP RISE.

What you Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical enterprise experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in SAP Basis/NetWeaver administration, including at least 5+ years operating in a cloud-hosted or SAP RISE environment, with a clear understanding of the SAP Shared Responsibility matrix.
  • Deep technical knowledge of SAP integration technologies (IDocs, RFCs, Web Services, API Hub) and familiarity with modern middleware solutions (SAP BTP Integration Suite, Azure Integration Services, etc.).
  • Mastery of SAP Transport Management, Solution Manager (ChaRM), or modern cloud ALM platforms, and hands-on experience with SAP Release Management from strategy through execution.
  • Demonstrated experience working in complex, multi-vendor IT landscapes managing high-volume data exchanges between disparate platforms.
  • Prior experience in aerospace, defense, or nuclear-adjacent manufacturing environments an asset
