This is a senior individual contributor role, sitting at the intersection of technical excellence, team leadership, business coordination, and strategic platform integration. You will be the cornerstone of our SFMC ecosystem, directly leading a team of SFMC developers - including a dedicated Interaction Studio specialist.

A core dimension of this role is the coordination with business stakeholders across country and zone teams - gathering marketing requirements, translating local business needs into platform solutions, and ensuring the central SFMC team delivers in close alignment with market realities. This role requires someone who can think at the platform level, build trusted relationships with business partners, and drive delivery excellence across a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilites:

SFMC Platform & Technical Ownership

  • Own and evolve the end-to-end SFMC platform - Business Unit structure, data model, contact strategy, and security framework
  • Define and enforce platform design principles, coding standards, and technical governance across all SFMC modules
  • Conduct technical reviews for all major initiatives before development begins
  • Anticipate platform scalability needs and proactively future-proof the SFMC ecosystem in alignment with the Salesforce product roadmap
  • Lead the evaluation and adoption of new SFMC capabilities (Data Cloud, Agentforce for Marketing, Hyperforce migration)

Team Leadership & Developer Enablement

  • Directly lead and mentor a team of SFMC developers, setting technical direction and ensuring delivery quality
  • Manage and guide the Interaction Studio / Personalization developer, ensuring alignment between real-time personalization strategy and broader SFMC platform
  • Establish and maintain a developer playbook: reusable templates, AMPscript libraries, SQL query standards, and Journey Builder patterns
  • Run code reviews, technical walkthroughs, and retrospectives to continuously raise the team's technical bar
  • Foster a collaborative, psychologically safe team culture where experimentation and learning are encouraged

Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Leadership

  • Act as the primary technical escalation point for SFMC across business, data, and IT teams
  • Collaborate with marketing leaders to translate business strategy into platform decisions
  • Contribute to RFP processes, vendor evaluations, and license optimization discussions
  • Represent the MarTech team in enterprise technology forums and IT governance meetings
  • Produce and maintain technical decision records and platform documentation
