Full Job Description
The Manager, Sales Development plays a critical role in keeping Klue's pipeline engine running. The purpose of the SDR Manager is to set the strategy, manage operations and lead a team of SDRs by attracting, enabling and optimizing performance to achieve pipegen targets needed to achieve business revenue goals. The ultimate goal is to ensure the team of SDR's is productive, engaged, and contributes to increased revenue by setting the strategy to increase the number of qualified opportunities at Klue. You'll work closely with the Director of Demand Generation, who sets quarterly targeting and talk tracks with you, and you'll manage SDRs directly. You coach and develop with energy, not just process, and you think about the job the way a builder does: what's working, what isn't, and what to try next. What's In It for You You'll have real ownership over how Klue's SDR team runs, hiring, coaching, day-to-day operations, and you'll get it with a team that's ready to be led differently rather than just kept running. You'll build fluency across SDR strategy, coaching, and pipeline operations, with direct input into the targeting and talk tracks that shape what the team spends its time on. What You'll Do • Run the Operational Engine. Own quotas, targets, and performance reporting for the SDR team, and set the rules of engagement between SDRs and the rest of sales and marketing. You keep tools and process (Outreach, HubSpot, and more) running efficiently, and flag risks to pipegen targets before they become misses. • Build the SDR Bench. Source, interview, and hire SDRs, then build the onboarding that gets new hires productive fast. You identify high performers and map their career path, and build succession so the team isn't dependent on any one person. • Coach for Real Performance Gains. Run regular cold call coaching and role plays, bringing creative, engaging approaches to enablement. You build a strong cultural presence: energy matters for reps early in their career, and you close skill gaps as products and pricing change. • Partner on Strategy and Execution. Execute the quarterly targeting and talk tracks set with the Demand Gen Lead, then feed insights back on what's working (and what isn't) in the SDR motion. You represent the SDR team's perspective in planning conversations and adjust team focus as priorities shift. What Success Looks Like • Team hits or exceeds quarterly targets • New SDR hires ramp faster than Klue's historical average • At least one new process or perspective introduced that Klue hasn't tried before • SDRs report feeling coached and supported, not just managed • Low regrettable attrition on the team • Risks are flagged proactively, not discovered after a miss What You Bring Must-Haves • Experience in business in a sales related role (ideally SaaS) • Experience 'competing' and knowing what it takes to be a top performer • Experience with cold calling and prospecting • Experience training, managing, or leading a team • Strong self-awareness (strengths, weaknesses, how you 'show up') Nice-to-Haves • Experience scaling a team from 3-4 reps to 6+ • Experience in competitive intelligence or a similarly technical B2B sale Not ticking every box? That's okay. We take potential into consideration. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of the specifics listed above. If you know you have what it takes, even if that's different from what we've described, be sure to explain why in your application.
