Leads the development and execution of ERPM's Data Governance and Data Risk Management strategy, ensuring risk data is managed as a strategic asset to support effective risk management, regulatory compliance, risk reporting, and business decision-making. Provides leadership and oversight for governance frameworks, policies, standards, controls, and operating models to ensure critical risk data is secure, accurate, complete, timely, available, and fit for purpose.
Acts as a trusted advisor to business, risk, technology, and enterprise stakeholders on data governance and data risk management requirements, including Critical Data Elements (CDEs), data ownership, stewardship, lineage, metadata, data quality, and issue management. Drives the maturity of ERPM's governance capabilities by establishing accountability, strengthening control environments, and advancing the adoption of enterprise data governance standards.
Promotes a culture of data ownership, stewardship, and accountability across ERPM while leading strategic initiatives that improve data quality, reduce data risk, and support regulatory, audit, and transformation priorities.
Key Accountabilities- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of ERPM's Data Governance and Data Risk Management program, including governance frameworks, standards, operating models, controls, and oversight processes.
- Provide leadership and strategic direction for Critical Data Element (CDE) governance, including data ownership, stewardship, quality management, lineage, metadata, and control effectiveness.
- Partner with senior leaders across Risk, Finance, Technology, Enterprise CDAO, Audit, and Compliance to establish governance practices that support risk management, regulatory reporting, and strategic decision-making.
- Oversee the identification, assessment, escalation, and remediation of data-related issues and risks, ensuring appropriate accountability and timely resolution.
- Establish governance metrics, key performance indicators, and executive reporting to monitor data governance effectiveness, data risk exposure, and remediation progress.
- Ensure alignment of ERPM governance practices with Enterprise Data Governance Standards, Data Risk Management requirements, and regulatory expectations.
- Provide oversight and challenge to data management practices, identifying opportunities to improve governance maturity, control effectiveness, and risk management.
- Support audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance activities by ensuring governance evidence, controls, and documentation are appropriately maintained.
- Represent ERPM CDAO in enterprise governance initiatives and contribute to the evolution of enterprise data management capabilities.
- Influence and drive strategic change initiatives that strengthen data governance, enhance trust in risk data, and maximize the value of data as a strategic asset.
QualificationsEducation & Experience- Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Information Management, Data Management, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Typically 7-10+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Risk Management, Regulatory Reporting, Audit, Compliance, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex governance programs, strategic initiatives, and cross-functional stakeholder engagements.
- Experience within financial services, banking, risk management, regulatory reporting, or control functions is strongly preferred.
- Experience leading teams and developing talent is preferred.
Required Knowledge & Skills- Strong knowledge of Data Governance, Data Risk Management, and Enterprise Data Management frameworks.
- Experience leading large-scale issue management and remediation efforts across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Strong understanding of risk management principles, control frameworks, and regulatory expectations.
- Ability to influence senior leaders and drive accountability without direct authority.
