Manager, Retail Systems

Department: Global Tech - Retail Systems Canada

Location: On site, Laval, QC (4204 boulevard Industriel, H7L 0E3)

Type of employment: Permanent, Full Time (40 hours)

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Retail Systems Engineering support for North America, the Manager of Retail Systems is responsible for supporting the delivery and day-to-day operations of the Canadian Retail Systems team. This role works closely with Project Managers, POS Software and Level 3 Support Engineers, Business and QA Analysts to support the development, implementation, and production support of Retail Systems. The Manager collaborates with corporate business units in Canada, the North American Retail Systems team, and Fuel branded partners.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Support the delivery of Retail Systems projects and services to meet business requirements and objectives and assist in identifying and resolving systems issues. Retail Systems projects include, but are not limited to: Store POS, Payment terminals, Loyalty, Security, and Systems Integration solutions.
  • Be the onsite, in office leader for the team in Canada, assisting the remote Sr. Manager in charge
  • Assist and support operational and capital budget tracking for Retail Systems activity in Canada.
  • Review and analyze existing Retail Systems effectiveness and efficiency and recommend strategies for improvement or optimization in collaboration with the North American Retail Systems team.
  • Research and provide recommendations on Retail Systems products and services in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Assist in leading the installation, configuration, and deployment of new Retail Systems hardware and software, and/or enhancements to existing systems across the enterprise, including coordinating distributed teams of internal and external resources.
  • Collaborate with external Retail Systems vendor partners, major fuel partners, and business stakeholders in overseeing the managed services team for quality assurance testing (QA) and deployments.
  • Knowledge sharing and collaboration with US Retail Systems Engineering team on common North American platforms.
  • Ensure that new system integrations into company Retail Systems meet functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
  • Maintain and update the inventory of company Retail Systems assets and their corresponding contracts and agreements.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field


Experience:
  • 5-7 years of equivalent work experience


Knowledge and skills:
  • Knowledge of systems and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team coordination capabilities.
  • Project management skills and/or exposure to project-based work structures.
  • Knowledge of POS systems is an asset.
  • Experience supporting financial and budget processes.
  • Strong listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer-service orientation.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.


Language skills:
  • Bilingualism required (Advanced French and English) both spoken and written, as the person will be required to work and communicate regularly in English while performing the tasks outlined above. Specifically, the role requires collaboration with global teams.
