Manager, Retail POS Insights & Analytics

The Manager, Retail POS Insights & Analytics will turn POS, sell-through, inventory, and retail performance data into actionable business insights. This role will serve as a key partner to Product Planning, Sales, Demand Planning, Finance, Business Intelligence, and senior leadership. This manager level, individual contributor role, has the opportunity to help shape and grow a broader retail insights function over time. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, technically strong, commercially minded, and comfortable presenting insights to senior leaders, including SVPs and the CFO. This person will not only report what happened, but explain why it happened, what it means, and what actions should be taken.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze POS, sell-through, inventory, and retail performance data across accounts, categories, licenses, brands, and SKUs.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities that support better product planning, forecasting, replenishment, and lifecycle decisions.
  • Build and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and recurring reports using tools such as Power BI, Excel, Power Query, and related platforms.
  • Use DAX, Power Query, and data modeling to improve reporting accuracy, scalability, and speed to insight.
  • Monitor new product launches and provide early reads on performance versus forecast, plan, and historical benchmarks.
  • Partner with Product Planning, Sales, Demand Planning, Finance, and BI to support assortment, inventory, and retail strategy decisions.
  • Prepare executive-ready summaries and recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Improve reporting processes by reducing manual work, standardizing metrics, and automating recurring analysis where possible.
  • Leverage AI-assisted tools such as Codex, Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar platforms to support analysis, automation, and workflow efficiency.
  • Help establish scalable reporting and insight processes that can support future team or function growth.

Key Metrics

This role will work closely with metrics such as sell-through rate, sales velocity, weeks of supply, inventory on hand, forecast versus actuals, SKU productivity, account performance, category performance, new launch performance, replenishment opportunity, markdown risk, and product lifecycle performance.

What You'll Bring

  • Five (5) or more years working in product planning, analytics, and commercial consumer product organizations preferred.
  • Experience in retail analytics, sales analysis, business intelligence, merchandising analytics, category management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of POS data, sell-through, inventory metrics, retail KPIs, and product lifecycle performance.
  • Ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable business recommendations.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong Power BI experience, including dashboard development, data modeling, visualization, and recurring business reporting.
  • Working knowledge of DAX and Power Query strongly preferred.
  • Experience with AI-assisted analytics, coding, or automation tools such as Codex, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar tools preferred.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present insights clearly to cross-functional partners and senior executives.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to connect retail performance trends to product, sales, inventory, and financial outcomes.
  • Experience in consumer products, collectibles, toys, licensing, entertainment, retail, or wholesale environments preferred.

Salary Information

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $105,000 - $130,500 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

This position will be based in Everett HQ, Burbank, CA, Minneapolis, MN, or Bentonville, Arkansas.
