Job Description

This role supports Market Risk's regulatory readiness by providing experienced coordination of regulatory examinations, Internal Audit engagements, continuous monitoring activities and related responses. Acting as a liaison among Market Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, and regulators, the incumbent manages Market Risk's participation in complex stakeholder-driven reviews and promotes clear, consistent, and timely communication. The role applies specialized knowledge of risk management, regulatory requirements and internal controls, together with sound judgment and effective challenge, to support effective execution and informed decision-making.

Core Roles and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate Market Risk examinations and reviews conducted by Internal Audit and external counterparts, including OSFI, the FRB, and the OCC, as well as continuous monitoring activities and responses.
  • Manage document requests, response preparation, evidence gathering, stakeholder engagement and supporting documentation throughout regulatory examinations and Internal Audit reviews.
  • Organize the review and sign-off process for relevant regulatory reporting, submissions and responses, working with subject-matter experts and relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain effective alignment among Market Risk, other Risk Management teams, Compliance, and Internal Audit, and support ongoing communication with regulators and regulatory relationship management activities.
  • Track regulatory and audit findings, commitments, action plans and remediation progress, and escalate significant issues or delays appropriately.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, briefing materials and regulatory communications on engagement status, emerging issues and trends, and remediation progress for senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain project management approaches, templates and tracking mechanisms to support consistent and effective execution of regulatory examination and audit activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve examination coordination, information access, reporting and governance practices, including through approved AI-enabled tools where appropriate, and support implementation of appropriate changes.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.


Qualifications
  • 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A relevant professional designation or certification, such as FRM, CPA, CFA, or CRCM is considered an asset.
  • Experience in risk management, audit, compliance, governance and/or project management is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of business and regulatory environment, including risk policy, internal control, quality control and testing frameworks relevant to financial services.
  • Good communication, presentational, and stakeholder management skills; ability to translate between technical subject matters and more-widely digestible concepts depending on the audience.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Influence skills - In-depth.
  • Collaboration & team skills; with a focus on cross-group collaboration
  • Comfortable working through ambiguity and translating regulatory or audit feedback into practical guidance, drawing on prior approaches and communications to inform decision-making


Salary:

$75,900.00 - $141,900.00

Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.
