Job Summary and QualificationsResponsible for the management of patient safety and performance improvement programs to meet the needs of the hospital. Participates in, and chars when needed, the hospital Quality Improvement Committee meetings and presents quality improvement and performance improvement data. Collects outcome and performance data and develops Focused Professional Practice Evaluations (FPPE).
Directs, facilitates and compiles documents for Peer Review. Investigates allegations, claims, and complaints against the organization and provides corresponding documentation. Interviews employees, patients, families, and physicians for details of events. Documents chronological summaries of events and research processes with a clinical/legal perspective. Participates in the legal, claims and risk reduction processes with the department director. Leads the Clinical Safety Improvement Program. Facilitates the performance improvement of Core Measures and publicly report data. Aids in the investigation and resolution of patient and family grievances. Assists in the preparation for regulatory body and accreditation surveys (Joint Commission, CMS) and other quality reviews (QCER, CSRE).
What qualifications you will need: - (RN) Registered Nurse
- Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
- Minimum 5 years of nursing or clinically related experience in a hospital setting.
- Experience in data collection and statistical analysis preferred.
- (CPHQ) Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date
