Job Description

Norton Rose Fulbright US LLP is seeking a Manager, Proposals who will provide full proposal lifecycle support across the US practices, ensuring responses are completed in an efficient, consistent, and professional manner. Strong organizational skills, creative thinking, and a proven ability to meet tight deadlines and juggle multiple projects, together with excellent written and verbal communications skills are essential. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and works well independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing and driving the preparation of proposals.

  • Coordinate input and gather insights from multiple sources, including pricing, legal professionals, legal project management, and competitive intelligence.

  • Develop and manage relationships and work collaboratively with business development peers in practice areas, sectors and client teams.

  • Provide project management support and information resources in order that strategic and panel responses are completed in an efficient, consistent and professional manner.

  • Write, edit, and manage up-to-date practice and experience descriptions and copy.

  • Support the auditing of existing materials to evaluate strategy and create new copy and approaches as appropriate.

  • Update and maintain the opportunities module tracking system and assist in the creation of leadership reports.

  • Direct coordination with partners and key stakeholders of the firm.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with colleagues on a global level for inter-region and panel opportunities.

  • Prepare placemats and client presentations, as requested.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelors degree and 5 years of relevant experience working in proposals functions.

  • In lieu of a bachelors degree, 9 years of relevant experience working in proposals functions.

  • Experience working in a law firm or professional services setting highly preferred.

  • Strong research and writing skills, as well as superior proofreading skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong professional presence, comfortable interacting and collaborating with lawyers, other professionals and staff within the firm.

  • Possesses diplomacy, enthusiasm, and perseverance.

  • A self-starter who can work on own initiative and is proactive in developing solutions.

  • Ability to liaise confidently and build relationships with people at all levels.

  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills and ability to manage workload.

  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.

  • Strong proficiency in using Microsoft Suite (including direct experience with Word, PowerPoint and advanced functions within Excel); PERSUIT and experience management systems a plus.

Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skills and experience. The full-time base annual salary ranges for this position in the markets below are expected to be:

  • Chicago, Illinois, and Minneapolis, Minnesota: $105,000 6 $151,000

  • Washington, District of Columbia: $140,000 6 $160,000

  • New York: $145,000 6 $180,000


These ranges represent the firm's good-faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting for these locations. Compensation in other markets may vary based on local market data. Bonus opportunities are not guaranteed and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
