Full Job Description
Overview & Responsibilities

Position involves the direct management of project engineering personnel to evaluate and implement equipment rerates, upgrades and modifications to Elliott and non-Elliott equipment. The project engineer team functions as the primary interface for the client for technical issues regarding their purchase of Elliott equipment and auxiliary systems. The project engineer interprets specifications, technical requirements, and translates them for Elliott internal use during the execution phase of an assigned customer order.

This individual will supervise, direct, train and mentor his or her project engineer reports within the Engineered Solutions team. The role includes technical project management of numerous compressor, turbine and pump rerate and upgrade (modification) orders. Workload volume of projects is moderate with a varied and global customer base. In addition, this position will be responsible to continue to practice day to day project engineering tasks with emphasis on improving customer relationships and working closely with the customer to drive satisfaction and promote Elliott for future projects/bookings, assigning projects appropriately within the team based on experience and skill level, and ensuring that practices and processes are the same as the New Apparatus group but still workable for Engineered Solutions. This position will interface primarily with Project Management, Drafting, and Engineering personnel in addition to many others functions at Elliott.

Responsibilities:

The principal activities of this position are to technically manage and direct project engineering tasks and personnel within the Engineered Solutions engineering team. This is a technical role where the day to day decision making and leadership will be focused on customer and project related challenges and aspects requiring thought or calculation. With a small team of project engineering reports, he/she will provide guidance on major day to day decisions and be responsible for supervision of the decisions of his/her reports.
  • Identify and implement the training and development requirements of all direct reports.
  • Maintain and analyze key performance indicators to identify and implement process performance improvements.
  • The position also encompasses representing ES and presenting our position and interests when working with the New Apparatus and Global Manufacturing teams to maintain and develop team project engineering and expertise, use appropriate engineering tools and technology, and ensure the technical integrity of all ES projects.
  • Coordinate with the ES Project Managers, Quality Assurance, Application Engineering, Drafting, Shipping and Receiving and other internal resources to maintain customer satisfaction and technical adherence to requirements of the projects, including D-specs, D&D lists, project status meetings, on time delivery, customer specifications, and risk assessment. Oversee all ES projects as the technical Project Manager, including all project assignments and heavy customer communication and interfaces.
  • Flexibility is a must due to the wide range of vintage equipment we work on as well as non-Elliott opportunities that we accept. Position will require multi-tasking a large number of assignments concurrently.
  • Activity pace of the position is considered "up-tempo" and very demanding in all ways. The individual will constantly be facing new technical challenges that have had little or no previous applications.
  • Position will be instrumental in making improvements to the process of executing numerous ES jobs, implementing and ensuring compliance to all customer specifications and requirements, and maintain on time delivery.
  • Support the successful execution of all rerates and modifications through contributions to specific project meetings and also through more general project management activities.
  • Participate in customer meetings and visits for testing witnesses.
  • Travel (up to 20%) as required in support of meetings and on site project handovers.
