FULL JOB DESCRIPTION GENERAL NATURE OF JOB : Sets strategic direction and long-term vision for the manufacturing operations of a critical product category on the Palmyra campus, recognizing the importance of multiple product lines to overall business success. Provides leadership for the operations of the business by developing and maintaining a world-class manufacturing operation that embraces our unique Dual Bottom-Line culture by placing equal emphasis on human development and financial performance. Combines ability to communicate effectively with different audiences with strong operational analysis skills and desire to achieve. Success requires balancing long-term transformation with sustained operational performance through effective leadership, talent development, and system-level thinking.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Strategic Leadership - Develops constructive collaboration with HR, Maintenance, Customer Support, Supply Chain, Engineering, EHS, and Planning as well as other key stakeholders.
- Partners with HR and Operations leadership to support consistent contract administration, employee relations, workforce planning, and effective communication in a union manufacturing environment.
- Builds Business Plan Deployment (BPD) and 3-5 year roadmap to leverage continuous improvement resources and capital investment.
- Participates in planning and/or decision making in situations concerning financial performance, inter-operational problems, plant policy, and staffing.
- Leads with a perform and transform mindset.
- Leads change management efforts to support operational transformation, process redesign, technology adoption, and sustained culture change.
Key metrics include Capital Expense Budget, BPD Performance, and Business Road Map.
Performance Management - Defines and analyzes performance against production KPI's in quality, delivery, and cost.
- Leads and/or supports daily review on management boards to understand and remove obstacles holding team back.
- Utilizes problem solving teams to understand root cause(s) using statistical analysis, DMAIC, A3, etc.
- Partners with Product Line Team to leverage commercial initiatives.
- Applies financial understanding of operations expenses to optimize gross margin of business as co-owner of the income statement.
- Hosts quarterly shop-floor performance updates.
Key metrics include Cost of Poor Quality, Returned Material Rate, On Time Delivery, Labor Efficiency, Inventory Value, and Gross Margin Percentage.
Production Team Leadership - Leads team of supervisors and front-line colleagues to achieve daily goals.
- Creates collaborative and inclusive environment with the core values of Safety, Excellence, and Respect as a foundation.
- Leads and reinforces a proactive safety culture through consistent use of safety systems, risk identification, incident prevention, and corrective action follow-through.
- Develops, motivates, and coaches employees in informal and formal settings using performance management software.
- Builds organizational capability through succession planning, leadership development, cross-training, and talent reviews for supervisors and key operational roles.
- Supports creation and execution of core teams focused on safety and continuous improvement.
Key metrics include Medical Treatment Case Rate, Safety Opportunity Corrected Rate, Department Headcount, Turnover Percentage, and 5S Score.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS : - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or other relevant coursework.
- Minimum 8-10 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations, including experience leading leaders, supervisors, or multi-functional teams.
- Experience leading complex manufacturing operations, preferably in a multi-shift, high-mix, or union manufacturing environment.
- Ability to build, develop, and engage teams directly and indirectly.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and lead within and outside a matrix environment.
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills to understand how to influence the profitability of business units.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with varied audiences and settings.
