Position Overview
Production Manager supervises the production and manufacturing of Company products, satisfying all reliability and quality standards mandated by customers and government specifications in the most cost effective and economical manner possible. Maintain inventory control levels to meet production requirements. Develop and follow action plans. Disseminate key values to subordinate personnel.

Areas of Focus
Production Manager manages, directs, and coordinates assigned plant operations.

Responsibilities
• Monitors assigned operations, on own and through subordinate supervisors, to ensure scheduled work and material flow; proper use of manpower, skills, equipment, and facilities; proper applications of methods; adherence to Company rules and regulations; and related matters
• Instructs and trains Production Supervisors to perform work assignments efficiently and effectively to meet labor and material standards
• Provides instructions, guidance and direction to Production Supervisors having assembly difficulties and procedural problems
• Work closely with engineering; environmental, health, and safety; and quality control at plant Arranges for proper maintenance of machines and equipment
• Recommends improvements in equipment and processes
• Participates in employee/labor relations procedures as directed
• Requisitions personnel to meet established production goals and, where applicable interviews and selects qualified employees
• Administers and appraises general administrative and technical programs such as cost reduction, methods of communications, safety and housekeeping and employee training
• Ensures compliance with safety and health regulations
• Interprets, initiates action on reports and prepares required reports
• Conducts meetings and is responsible for communication policies and regulations to subordinate personnel
• Coordinates relations between production and maintenance employees through department heads
• Participate in contract negotiations and exercise proper degree of Administrative authority in relation to personnel act
• Direct supervision of Production Supervisors assigned to that department
• Indirect supervision of Production Workers assigned to that department
• Performs other duties and functions as assigned

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 10 years production experience
• Knowledge of EEOC, OSHA, and EPA rules and regulations
• Broad knowledge of management techniques involving manufacturing, inventory control, quality/continuous improvement
• Production planning, safety, business planning, cost control, and administrative skills required
• Continuous improvement/lean/Six sigma proficient
• Computer literacy
• Training in supervision
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Experience working with union-represented maintenance and production personnel preferred
