Functional area: Procurement
Remuneration: Exempt

The Procurement Manager will oversee day-to-day sourcing and purchasing activities to ensure the business gets the material and services it needs on time, at competitive cost and terms. The role requires coordination with suppliers, negotiation, and supporting business needs with the broader procurement strategy

Role Responsibilities:
  • Lead full-cycle procurement for assigned grid equipment packages, managing the process from sourcing through contract execution and supplier onboarding
  • Develop sourcing strategies tailored to individual projects, balancing competitive pricing, supplier capabilities, and project schedules
  • Conduct advanced bid evaluations by reviewing commercial, technical, and risk-related aspects of supplier proposals, producing detailed award recommendations
  • Negotiate commercial terms directly with suppliers, securing favorable pricing, warranties, liquidated damages, and delivery commitments while mitigating contractual risks
  • Draft, review, and finalize contracts in collaboration with Legal and internal stakeholders, ensuring all terms comply with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Act as procurement lead for project teams, coordinating closely with Engineering, Development, and Construction to align sourcing decisions with project goals
  • Monitor supplier execution against contracts, tracking critical milestones and escalating non-performance issues where needed
  • Maintain accurate reporting of procurement timelines, contract values, and supplier performance for management visibility
  • Support supplier relationship management by fostering collaboration, addressing conflicts, and identifying opportunities for long-term partnerships
  • Provide insights into market dynamics for WTG, grid components, and hydrogen technologies, sharing intelligence with leadership and cross-functional teams


Job Requirements and Experiences:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 5 years of procurement experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships
  • Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
  • Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
  • Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
  • Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
  • Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
  • Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts
  • Ability to present and communicate effectively to senior level management.


Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois or New York is $105,000 - $130,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
