About the Role

At HG Insights, our people are everything and this role exists to make sure they feel that every single day. We are looking for a Manager, People (US) who is not just experienced, but genuinely passionate about building people functions that work, This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who has been in the trenches of building HR from the ground up ideally in a fast-moving, high-growth technology environment and who knows what it takes to create structure, clarity and consistency without losing the human touch along the way. You will be reporting to the Senior Director, People and will be the engine behind our People team across the region executing with precision, consistency and care while our People leaders set the strategy and roadmap.

This role was created because our US people's needs have grown significantly and the complexity that comes with that growth deserves dedicated, expert attention. From contracts and benefits administration to immigration law and policy writing, you will own the pieces of our US people function that require real depth, real expertise and real commitment to getting things right. If you are a high-agency builder who thrives on taking ownership and turning ambiguity into structure, this role is for you. We need someone who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and do the heavy lifting, but who also wants the autonomy to design, iterate, and scale the processes that define our People Experience.

What you'll do
  • Own the drafting, review and management of all AMER employment contracts, offer letters, amendments and separation agreements
  • Ensure all employment documentation is legally compliant, up to date and aligned with US federal and state requirements
  • Partner with legal counsel where required on complex or non-standard employment arrangements
  • Own end-to-end US benefits administration health, dental, vision, 401(k), wellness reimbursements and all ancillary benefits
  • Manage open enrolment processes, vendor relationships and employee benefits queries with accuracy and care
  • Ensure benefits programmes are competitive, compliant and clearly communicated to all US employees
  • Design, write and maintain US people policies that are legally compliant, clearly written and genuinely employee-friendly
  • Proactively track changes in AMER federal and state employment law and update policies and practices before they become a problem
  • Ensure our US Employee Handbook is current, consistent and reflects who we are as a company
  • Manage all US immigration processes including H-1B, OPT, STEM OPT, green card sponsorship and I-9 compliance
  • Partner with external immigration counsel to ensure timely and accurate processing of all visa and work authorisation cases
  • Serve as the internal point of expertise on immigration matters advising employees and managers with clarity and confidence
  • Support the full US employee lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding ensuring every touchpoint is smooth, consistent and handled with care
  • Be the trusted, go-to person for US employees on all people-related queries and processes
  • Partner with the broader global People team to ensure US processes are aligned with global standards and frameworks
  • Support HRIS data integrity, reporting accuracy and system adoption across all people platforms
  • Partner with senior People leaders to evaluate, select and implement the HR systems and tools that will power our people function
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives, pulse surveys and action planning globally.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, IT, Talent Acquisition and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, streamline operations and elevate the overall employee experience end to end.


What we are looking for

Minimum Qualifications
  • 7+ years of progressive HR / People experience with strong US specific expertise
  • Proven experience in a SMB SaaS or technology company you understand the pace, the constraints and the opportunity
  • Hands-on experience with US benefits administration you have managed open enrolment, vendor relationships and employee queries
  • Hands-on experience with one or more HRIS platforms such as Workday, Namely, BambooHR, SAP SuccessFactors, Rippling or Lattice with proven ability to implement, optimise and manage these systems at scale.
  • Strong knowledge of US employment law across federal and multiple state jurisdictions
  • Demonstrable experience managing US immigration processes H-1B, OPT, green card and I-9 compliance
  • Excellent policy writing skills you can translate complex legal requirements into clear, readable language
  • Experience drafting and reviewing employment contracts and separation agreements
  • A self-starter who takes ownership, operates with high integrity and thrives in a lean, fast-moving environment
