Job SummaryLocation: River Rouge, MI
Responsible for crew safety, environmental compliance, productivity, profitability, employee retention, and customer satisfaction within the business unit. Assist in management of all Coke Making activities as a collaborative member of the management team.
Key Accountabilities- Responsible for the implementation of business unit safety activities to meet or exceed organizational goals
- Maintains interpersonal relationships with individuals both external and internal to the organization
- Be an active participant of developing and maintaining a culture of professionalism
- Develops employees to maximize performance potential
- Responsible for enforcement of rules, policies, or expectations, etc.
- Responsible for the implementation of crew/turn safety activities to meet or exceed organizational goals
Minimum Education & Experience RequirementsA Bachelor's or technical degree in a related field and 5 years' experience performing similar responsibilities. In the absence of a formal degree, a high school diploma or GED and 5 to 7 years' experience in a manufacturing operation and maintenance capacity, (experience in Battery Heating and Patching is highly desired) including supervisory experience is required to provide for the following:
- Manufacturing experience in an operating discipline
- Strong safety experience
- Team Leading experience that demonstrates effective planning skills and an ability to manage and develop people
- Demonstrated organizational skills and presence through a track record of accomplishments
- Demonstrated capability to achieve results through people, technology, and processing equipment
- Good knowledge of the assigned area of responsibility
- Ability to function within a matrix organization in which functional and business leaders have equal authority within the organization and employees report to both a functional leader and a business leader
- Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with both a functional and business leader, who collaborate on employee issues and decisions (including performance management, compensation, and development)

- Frequently lift objects of up to 70 pounds in weight, and carry objects of up to 50 pounds in weight. Occasionally the employee will have to push or pull objects of up to 100 pounds in weight
- Frequently climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or occasionally, crawl. Enter and work in confined space areas
- Talk & hear; use hands & fingers; handle & feel; and able to reach with hands and arms extensively
- Frequent operations of controls with occasional driving and fine hand function manipulations of tools and equipment
- Vision requirements for this position include close vision, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions, including wet and/or humid conditions, and extreme heat and cold. Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and/or machinery and burns. Occasionally exposed to vibration and fumes or airborne particles which will require the use of personal protective equipment including respirators; flame retardant clothing; self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), etc. Exposed to protected and unprotected heights, which requires the use of a personal fall protection system (harness/lifeline). The noise level in the work environment may occasionally go above the threshold, requiring PPE.
